It’s time for another NAJ straight from Dubai, which means the tallest building, the largest shopping mall and the largest dancing fountain.
This time, the aforementioned 3 NAJ are very close to each other: coming out of the mall, we immediately see the fountain and the Burj Khalifa (Burj Khalifa) (this is not hard to find, as the building can be seen from almost any point in Dubai).
In an earlier post about Dubai, we wrote that you can get to many places in Dubai without even pointing your nose outside, but this time we have to go outside to admire the dancing fountain. Fortunately, it’s not that bothersome, as the water gives us some cooling.

Dubai Mall
But let’s start with the mall itself – the Dubai Mall. Although it would be better to write shopping and entertainment center, because it’s not the stores that are the biggest attraction here (and you’ll find a bagatelle 1,200 of them here!).
Shopping with sharks? Only in Dubai :) At the center is a huge aquarium with a capacity of 10 million liters of water, where you can see about 400 sharks. It is possible to go through the aquarium via a special tunnel, with this attraction already being an extra charge.
Free of charge for that you can watch the games on the field hockey field, which is used as an ice rink on a daily basis. The 112.4-acre center also includes: SEGA Republic (a center with games, carousels, cars, etc.), a cinema with 22 rooms, and 120 (!!!) restaurants and cafes.
There is one more mall in Dubai that deserves attention, which is a little further away, but it is impossible not to mention it. Because who hasn’t heard of one of Dubai’s biggest attractions, the ski slope ;) It is located in the Mall of the Emirates. Of course, there is a fee to enter the slope, and you can rent equipment and clothing on site. To use the slope you do not need to be an avid skier – you can also go sledding and meet penguins here :) And for those who do not want to enter the “snow” remains to admire the slope from behind the glass.
Dancing fountain in Dubai
But let’s go back to Dubai Mall, or rather, exit from the side of the dancing fountain – an amazing show combining water with music and light.
The fountain made an electrifying impression on us – starting with its size (length – 270 meters), the height to which the water rises (up to 150 meters), and the perfect harmony of the fountain with the sounds. You are encouraged to stay for more than one show, as the fountain dances to a variety of songs, from classics to the latest hits.
The shows take place almost all day, but it’s best to go in the evening, after dark, to admire the fountain’s capabilities in full color. Literally. Find out for yourself by watching the video below:
Burj Khalifa
We were charmed by the fountain, but time was pressing us because we were booked to enter the biggest attraction – the entrance to the tallest building in the world (we still returned to the fountain as it got dark), namely the Burj Khalifa (Burj Khalifa).
Impressive…
The very statement about ascending to the top is a bit misleading and over the top, because in fact, you don’t ascend the mountain itself, just a measly 452 meters (124th floor!). For the more affluent, there is now the option to go even higher – to 555 meters (148th floor).
We flash upstairs in an elevator that travels 10 meters per second. At the top is a glassed-in vantage point from which we can enjoy the Dubai skyline – fantastic views, but not for those with a fear of heights.
To our eyes appeared tightly built skyscrapers, wide streets, full of cars, the sea on one side and the desert on the other. We recommend you to book a specific time, so as to be before sunset on the mountain – then you can see Dubai in all its glory during the day and at night (frankly, we liked the one at night better, when the streets are lit up with thousands of lights).
We could stay up there for a really long time, if only to watch some fountain shows from above.
We recommend Dubai!
Dubai surprised us – on the one hand with its progress and technological solutions, impressive buildings and skyscrapers, and on the other hand with the extremes we have to deal with here. Dubai is also a unique, expressly developing city.
And even though it wasn’t our main sightseeing destination, we’re glad we visited there. We hope that we will have the opportunity to see this city once again, to see with our own eyes what other whims and ideas are fulfilled here by the richest of the rich :)
We also recommend this direction to you, after all it is not that far from Poland :)
