On the last day we drove near Berlin to Potsdam. There we saw the palace and garden complex, which since 1990. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A weekend in Berlin doesn’t have to mean just sitting all the time in the city. You can also drive a bit further to see the interesting place that is Potsdam. The perfect springboard after exploring Berlin :)
There we visited, among others, the Sanssouci Palace, the castle, very large gardens and several other “smaller” buildings ;) The size and vastness is really impressive. Probably in spring and summer it is much nicer here – we only managed to find the first signs of spring. We spent two hours there, although on summer/spring days you can spend practically the whole day there :)
Admission to the gardens themselves is free, parking unfortunately already costs a little something. Parking is billed per hour, so it is better to plan your visit so that you do not pay only for the next 5 minutes started, which happened in our case :)
The place itself certainly has a rich history, however, we definitely count ourselves among those who simply relax in such corners admiring the surrounding beauty of nature (and architecture) ;)
In the end, we went back to return some things to Primark and buy new things – we just happened to hit a Sunday on which the shopping center was open ;) On average, it is usually one Sunday a month. Information about this is always available on the websites.
The way back to Lodz was faster, taking us only 4 hours. Long live the highways! If only fuel were cheaper ;-)
We also recommend you a post on what to see in Berlin.
