Da dam! Here it is! Our next baby that we have been working hard on all day and night for the past few months. We’ve gathered experiences from several years of traveling around Poland and prepared a book of places that are perfect for families with children! In this post you will find a foretaste of what awaits in the book: 104 attractions that will encourage you to plan your vacation in our country.
The day has come when we, too, decided to gather our experience, records, thoughts and create materials that we will make available to you in the form of eBooks. We have long had an online store where you can buy our travel books, planners, eBooks with blog notes from our several trips (Madeira, Azores and Faroe Islands), or even some free products :)
Now it’s finally time to refresh our first book release :)
We decided to gather in one place, in a book of 104 attractions for families with children in Poland, places in Poland that we have visited over the past few years. Below you will find a small foretaste of what we have described in our book, namely 12 attractions for children (including, at least one from each category). The form and content is slightly different from that in the book, but you can already see the details on the store’s website.
However, remember to always check if the place is open, if the prices are up to date and if any new attractions have arrived, because you know…. the world is constantly changing :)
Table of contents
What’s in the mix?
But before about the attractions themselves, a word of explanation about what you will find in the listing. First of all, we base only on our own experience, we present our opinions from places where we have been personally. Secondly, this is not a compilation of the best attractions in Poland, because that was not what we intended here :)
We tried to choose the attractions in such a way that there was something for everyone. Some are sensational, some have some shortcomings, but we wanted to show places that are different: both museums, amusement parks and nature. Some are free and some are quite expensive. Some are for hardcore fans, and some are places of rest and relaxation. Some for toddlers and some for slightly older children.
Regardless of your interests and the age of your children, everyone will find something suitable for them in our book.
Next to each place we describe is a brief description of the attraction, practical information (access, prices) and our subjective assessment. We evaluated the sites mainly in terms of attractiveness and accessibility for children, but we also took into account value for money and time spent.
Oh, an important thing you may be wondering…. Well, none of the companies or institutions mentioned paid us to appear in the publication and did not influence our evaluation with an opinion. The discounts you can find here were placed totally free of charge and did not affect our opinion in any way.
And despite the fact that 12 attractions are presented here and as many as 104 places in the book, we are still left unsatisfied. The preparation of this publication has opened our eyes to many places we have not yet been or to which we would like to return, so we are already slowly starting to collect material for the next edition.
12 attractions for children in Poland
So we present 12 attractions, the most interesting from different categories, which we think are worth visiting in Poland. Random order, without our ratings :-)
1. suntago
The Suntago Tropical Water Park was lavishly opened in February 2020, and unfortunately has not had the opportunity to operate normally for the past year. We regret this, because the place has tremendous potential and would certainly have been frequented by families with children in better times.
It is the largest covered water park in Poland. It is divided into 3 zones: Jamango, Relax and Saunaria, with the latter two only available to those over 16. Jamango is a zone full of water attractions: there are a total of 32 slides here, including the longest 320-meter Jungle Eclipse slide (most slides are for people over 120 cm). If someone doesn’t like slides then they can enjoy other attractions: indoor and outdoor pools with thermal water, hot tubs, a pool with artificial waves, a river with a current, and even a place to learn to surf.
The Pirates Playground, a water playground with slides, awaits toddlers (over 100cm).
For more information, see our post on Suntago and the video below:
2. EC1 Łódź – Science and Technology Center
EC1 Łódź is a former power plant that supplied the city with electricity, now renovated, converted into a cultural and educational center. Revitalization work is still underway here, but the Planetarium and the Science and Technology Center at EC1 Lodz are already fully accessible.
CNiT EC1 is an interactive and educational center where visitors learn how energy was once created here, using the preserved interiors of the former thermal power plant and original elements. Here you can see how coal was transported, how the giant boilers worked, and even get a feel for one of them by walking right through the middle of them (rest assured, it’s safe!). There is also no shortage of thematic exhibitions on various physical phenomena, chemical reactions, the workings of nature, sound, light and even the cosmos!
EC1 Lodz is more for older children, however, it is worth noting that a special section titled “The EC1 Lodz” is scheduled to open later this year. “Zone of Elements” for children aged 3 to 10.
For more information, see our post about EC1 Lodz.
3. snowbird
Many parents decide to take their first family trip to Karpacz, because there are many typical attractions for children in the area, and, by the way, the mountain trails are no longer far away. If you are not sure how much your children will be strong enough for and whether they will even enjoy walking in the mountains, we recommend a trip to Snow Mountain.
And you don’t have to throw yourself on the trail right away, and all you have to do is take the ski lift to the Kopa, and from there it’s not far to the top of Snow Mountain itself. Anyway, even if nothing comes out of the walk, you can simply take the lift down at any time. This makes the highest peak of the Giant Mountains reachable even for families with infants. The lift trip from Karpacz takes about 8 minutes. From here it is a piece of black trail to the Silesian House (about 15 minutes of walking). Further on, we can choose one of two routes to the top of Sněžka itself – a shorter but sharper one, or a milder but longer one (the so-called Jubilee Road). Depending on your choice, the road will take about 25 or 35 minutes.
We recommend getting a sling or carrier if you are traveling with a toddler who is not yet walking or does not like to walk.
Also read more information on what to do in Karpacz and the surrounding area on our blog.
5. clement orchards
Klemens Orchards is a family park in Lodz province, near Rawa Mazowiecka, created on the site of former apple orchards.
This is a place where, on the one hand, you can rest and relax among the greenery, and on the other hand, there are many attractions for children, scattered throughout the park so that adults can also relax ;)
They include: A giant sandbox, a water park with a paddling pool, a maze, trampolines, playgrounds, inflatables, an obstacle course…. Children can take a ride on a tiny and slow tractor train, ride go-karts, take a look at the Scarecrow or try their hand at the rope park.
Younger visitors have a multitude of attractions, and for adults there are many places with deck chairs, hammocks, barbecue areas, so there is something for everyone.
6. illusion farm
The Illusion Farm amusement park, despite its name, is not just a place full of magic, tricks and optical illusions. It is also a place full of adventure, fun, playgrounds and education.
This is an amusement park where there is something for everyone: there are attractions for both young and old, there are for fans of adrenaline and peaceful rides, there are magic shows, animation and even water attractions. Here you can see mummies and learn about the history of ancient Egypt, look into an abandoned mine, relax on the beach among pirates, look for dragons, get lost in a maze or go rafting.
Children will definitely want to spend a lot of time on carousels, horse and train rides or inflatables. Some are for toddlers as small as 90 cm, and many can be climbed on with a parent, so even the smallest children will have a lot of fun.
The number of attractions makes it worth setting aside a whole day to visit the Illusion Farm.

7. the “Wieliczka” Salt Mine
Wieliczka is definitely one of the top attractions in Poland, attracting tourists from all over the world. The mine is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was inscribed on the list at the very beginning, in 1978.
Hundreds of kilometers of galleries, 9 levels, the deepest of which reaches 327 meters underground, extraordinary history as well as the miner’s work ethos make this place unique in the world and we are not surprised by its popularity.
Of particular note is the route dedicated to families with children to the mysterious land of Solilandia. It is not just a fairy tale journey full of puzzles, but above all an educational excursion into the depths of the earth. The youngest learn the name of each place, how the miners worked, learn about the history of the mine. Children are given tasks, they have to follow directions, they meet various characters along the way, and at the end there is a surprise – a meeting with… Well, just let it remain a surprise. The route is 2.5 kilometers long and takes about 2 hours.
The recommended age is 5 years old, but in our opinion, 4-year-olds will already have too
The fun of such a route.
You can read more about Wieliczka in our post.
8. zoological garden in Wroclaw
The Wroclaw Zoo and Africarium is considered to be the most interesting zoo in the country, and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in all of Poland. Certainly of great importance was the opening of the Afrykarium in October 2014, which attracts crowds of tourists as the first oceanarium in Poland.
The Wroclaw Zoo covers a large area, with as many as 12 themed pavilions (including, among others, the Afrykarium, Monkey House, Madagascar, Bird House and Elephant House). The enclosures are large, interestingly arranged, and combine representatives of different species.
Visitors can see nearly 10,000 animals from more than 1,000 species. A nice attraction is the feeding of the animals, which takes place at designated times. Undoubtedly, the most interesting and popular is a visit to the aforementioned Afrykarium, whose main purpose is to show Africa and its diverse aquatic environment.
You need to plan a whole day to visit Zoo Wroclaw.
You can read more about the Zoo and other attractions in Wroclaw in our post attractions for children in Wroclaw.
9. the fairy tale of Mr. Kleks
Mr. Kleks’ Fairy Tale is a place in Katowice where you will enter the world of Jan Brzechwa’s novels. This is a place full of fun and entertainment, and at the same time education, as an adventure with many tasks to solve awaits the participants.
The fairy tale of Mr. Blossom can be visited individually or in groups with a guide – we recommend the latter option, when someone leads the group through all the stations, weaves stories and engages even the youngest participants.
The trip lasts about 2 hours, during which the children visit different lands. On the one hand they are tasked with finding lost objects, arranging shapes with blocks, drawing, tying sailor knots, discovering planets, and on the other hand they can play on slides, obstacle course or balance boards.
10. julinek
Julinek Amusement Park is a truly twisted place, full of circus tricks, acrobatics, balloons, performances and many attractions for the little ones. Here you can not only admire and watch the performances, but also play circus performer yourself. In the 1990s, there was a Circus Base here, which was a base for circus teams from all over Poland. This is where they trained and practiced, this is where accessories, props and circus equipment were created.
There are many attractions for children in Julinek, although it should be borne in mind that the youngest ones will not be able to take full advantage of everything (there are age and height restrictions on some attractions).
Here you will find a playground, a rope park, inflatables, a separate area with an amusement park (additional fee), a climbing wall, at certain times there are animations, shows, games and special performances in the Big Arena.
The property is located in the Kampinos National Park, so here you can breathe fresh air and take a break from urban pollution and smog.
You can read more about Park Julinek in our post and see in the video below:
11. juraPark Krasiejów
There is a reason why a dinosaur park was established in Krasiejów. It was here that the remains of prehistoric amphibians and reptiles over 230 million years old were found! Of course, it is necessary to mention the most famous ones, namely those belonging to Silesaurus opolensis, found in the Krasiejów area, which, according to some, is considered the oldest known dinosaur in the world (an archaeological site still operates here today).
At JuraPark, we can admire 1:1 scale models of dinosaurs, learn about the history of the universe, but also play (or relax) at the numerous playgrounds and attractions for the youngest. The journey through JuraPark begins with a train ride with a 3D cinema depicting the history of the universe. Later, we will have a walk through the eras, full of interesting facts and information about the discovery of remains in the ground.
The next step is to walk on footbridges among the dinosaurs (there are almost 200 models throughout the park), and then we can go to the Cinema of Emotions and the Oceanarium. Children are sure to enjoy the large playground, inflatables, trampolines and even a prepared beach with a funfair!
See more information about JuraPark Krasiejów.
12. Książ Castle
Ksiaz Castle majestically reigns on a hill in the Ksiazanski Landscape Park. The castle is reached through a park or wooded area, and entered through the pre-castle. As you walk through the courtyard, you can admire numerous sculptures depicting mythological figures. There are many turbulent episodes in the castle’s history and it has been destroyed several times. Major losses occurred during World War II, when the castle was adapted for German war quarters, and further damage continued when it fell into the hands of the Red Army.
During the tour one sees, among other things. Baroque Salon, Green Salon, White Salon, Chinese Salon, Ballroom, Knights’ Hall and numerous offices. Finally, a gem awaits – Maximilian Hall, the most beautiful hall in the entire castle.
After exploring the interiors, you walk out onto beautiful terraces with numerous ornate fountains and sculptures – there are as many as 14 terraces on the castle grounds! The castle also hides secrets, and there are many legends surrounding it about its role in World War II, special underground tracks (the golden train also has its episode here) or hollow tunnels and hidden treasures.
