What accommodations do you choose when going to Poland? Would you rather sleep in a tent or in a 5-star hotel? Is it better if you cook or someone cooks for you? Do you look at the attractions at the resort, or do you spend all day outside? Well, that’s right, as many people as many opinions. In this post we do not focus only on hotels for families with children in Warmia and Mazury. There will be guesthouses, campgrounds, luxury hotels…. Anyway, see for yourself!
Recently we have been recommending to you interesting places in Masuria whether you are looking for adrenaline, history, water sports or quiet corners for families with children. In this post we would like to show you some accommodations in Warmia and Mazury.
And there is plenty to pick and choose from! These range from campgrounds and campgrounds to remote guesthouses and 5-star hotels. In short: there is something for everyone.
Below we present to you some of the facilities, most of which we slept in. We also include two facilities where we did not stay overnight, but enjoyed their attractions and had the opportunity to see how the places function.

Anders Hotel in Stare Jabłonki
We will always associate our stay at the Anders Hotel with the intensely fragrant pine forest. As you leave the hotel building, you can take a full breath, which we highly recommend, as the Tabor Forests are all around you. They get their name from the Tabor pine, which is found only in this region and has beneficial effects on the respiratory system, among other things. We would also add, as an incentive, that Stare Jablonki lies within the Green Lungs of Poland. Cheers!
The hotel is located on Lake Szelag Maly, so numerous water attractions await. The hotel has its own lakeside beach, open in summer with a guarded swimming area. It’s tempting to hop in a kayak or pedal boat and cruise around the lake. There is also a marina for ships here, as from Stare Jablonki you can sail to Ostroda and then to Elblag and the Baltic Sea.
The beach volleyball courts on the grounds of the Anders Hotel catch the eye, there are as many as 8 of them! Well, the hotel has been organizing beach volleyball and beach handball tournaments for many years (even the beach volleyball world championships were held here).
However, do not worry that you will not experience rest here, on the contrary. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful here. Guests are spread out in the main hotel building, the palace and the Masurian cottages. The main building is connected by a corridor to the palace and the restaurant. The common areas are not crowded or cramped.
We spent the night at the palace, in the former Anders Villa, in a beautiful, spacious apartment (because a room can’t be called that!). At our disposal was a huge lounge set, two bathrooms (including one with a large bathtub in the middle), two TVs (including one in the bathroom). The room is decorated with taste, where tradition derived from the history of the place mixes with modernity. It was a nice break for us with a bit of luxury, which everyone deserves sometimes, after all. Of course, the hotel also offers standard rooms :)
From the palace we entered directly into the restaurant, which was located on level 0. Breakfast was tasty, served on plates by waiters and waitresses. We liked best the seats at the tables overlooking the lake.
What attractions await guests on the premises? In addition to the aforementioned beach, equipment rental or sports fields, it is essential to mention the swimming pool, spa area, saunas, bowling alley, tennis courts, barbecue areas and fishing piers.
For children, there is an outdoor playground and an indoor playroom, along with a large, colorful monkey grove.
There is also plenty to do in the area! There is a nature trail right next door, leading to the bunker, and you can hop on a bike or into the lake.
This was our first overnight stay during the pandemic so we paid special attention to health and safety issues. We were given a printed sheet with very extensive information about the hotel’s rules. Disinfectant fluids were available everywhere, and disposable masks were waiting outside the restaurant. Workers had personal protective equipment and kept their social distance.
Increased rigor was also felt in the restaurant. Tables were sanitized, hot meals and snacks served only by restaurant staff. It is immediately apparent that this hotel pays great attention to health and safety issues.
We especially recommend this hotel to people who are looking for peace and quiet, relaxation, families with children who appreciate a little luxury and comfort.

Warmian Baths
Termy Warmińskie in Lidzbark Warmiński, is not only swimming pools. It’s a large complex combining an aquapark, spa area and accommodations. During our stay in Warmia and Mazury we had the opportunity not only to try out the thermal pools, but also to spend one night on site.
We think that this is a very convenient solution, because by staying overnight you can use the pools almost to your heart’s content and you don’t have to pack your manatees for the pool all the time. Walking through the corridors from the hotel rooms to the pool is practical, especially in winter, and you can go simply in a bathrobe without wasting time packing and changing (bathrobes are waiting for guests in the rooms).
Do not let the entrance, to the facility, deceive you, because it looks like the entrance to a swimming pool. However, right next to the pool cashier’s office is a counter for hotel guests to check in.
We spent the night in a hotel room that seemingly looked like an ordinary room with a living room and kitchen, but turned out to be a bunk suite. On the first floor there were an additional two rooms and a bathroom. Such an apartment can comfortably sleep 6 or even 8 people.
There is a restaurant next to the thermal baths, where breakfast is served to hotel guests. You can also enjoy an evening buffet. The buffet Denmark are put on by the staff, but already the cold snacks at breakfast are put on by everyone themselves.
We really liked the restaurant – nicely arranged, full of wooden accents and greenery. It absolutely does not look like a pool canteen, but rather like a good hotel restaurant. If the weather is good, it is worth having a meal on the terrace.
And what awaits you at the pools? The pools are divided into two sections (relaxation and active), and there is a third section with a spa. In the active zone you can go wild to your heart’s content :) It is here that you will find a swimming pool, a paddling pool for children and slides. The relaxation part includes pools with health properties and a rushing river.
To whom do we especially recommend this hotel? Families with children who appreciate convenience, people who feel like relaxing in the water or spa area after an active day.

Robert’s Port
If you’re looking for a family facility, with playgrounds and plenty of activities for the little ones, you should consider Robert’s Port facility near Mikolajki.
It is a large 4-star hotel picturesquely located directly on Lake Talty. There is a beach, a marina, a well-kept terrace with a lawn, and swings where you can blissfully relax and admire the lake.
And since the hotel is located on a lake, it offers boat cruises on the aforementioned Lake Talty, or on the largest lake in Poland, Śniardwy. Some vacation packages include such cruises free of charge, so it’s worth reading the hotel’s offer carefully. We had the opportunity to go on a cruise on the Sniardwy, which lasted about an hour and a half and started in Mikolajki. It was very calm, and we were able to watch birds, look at the shoreline and rushes.
As already mentioned, this property is especially recommended for families with children, due to attractions like playgrounds and animation that take place on the lake. There is also an indoor playroom, but it was still closed during our stay due to an epidemic. Anyway, let the fact that the hotel is mainly oriented towards families with children be an indication of the fact that even the spa offers special treatments for the little ones ;)
However, the children’s corner in the middle of the restaurant, with a glass floor, is a hit. Seemingly nothing like that, a simple table with coloring books, but below it is a pool, so children can watch the guests swimming below them all the time.
Speaking of food, how about meals? Meals are served in two restaurants on the first floor. When checking into the hotel, guests are told which restaurant to use. Breakfast is standard, but it’s also worth looking at ready-made packages here, as you can stay overnight at Robert’s Port with full board, which is quite a convenience and comfort. Meals are buffet style, the choice is considerable, although we must admit that lunch is more plentiful than dinner. Traditionally, we recommend consuming your meal on the terrace overlooking the lake ;)
The hotel is prepared for a pandemic: safety information was waiting for us in the room, employees walked around wearing masks or visors, there are disinfectant gels available to the public, and tables are disinfected after each guest. Only the issue of the buffet could have been better resolved, because despite orders to keep their distance and put dishes with their cutlery, many guests ignore these recommendations and take a break from pandemonium.

Pension Sielanka
This time a place where we did not stay overnight, but was captivated by its location, attractions and atmosphere.
We went to the Sielanka guesthouse in the Mazurian Roundhouse Resort to take part in the Zoo Safari. We wrote about this attraction in a post about attractions in Mazury so we won’t duplicate the content here.
After the ride among the animals, we went to the guesthouse to warm up a bit, relax and eat, as there is also a restaurant for outside guests. Here you can order homemade food from a modest menu and eat on the veranda overlooking the lake.
Pensjonat Sielanka is located in the Humpty Mazury region, and indeed the landscape here is very undulating. Add to this that there is a ski slope here and in winter you have a good alternative to go to the mountains ;)
Unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to see the rooms or poke around the hotel parts, but we saw happy guests, both groups of friends who came here to relax and families with children.
There are many attractions at their disposal: a feast hut, swimming pool, sauna, banya, water attractions on the lake and a mini zoo.
So if you’re looking for a place in a remote area, take a look at the offer of the Idyll Guesthouse. We convinced ourselves and will certainly be happy to return here for a longer period of time.

Ryn Castle
Yes! We spent the night in the castle! So true! It was one of the most original accommodations. There were already many family-type facilities, guesthouses or multi-star hotels, but we rarely stayed overnight in a castle.
Ryn Castle is part of the same chain as Hotel Anders Stare Jablonki, the Anders Group. And here we must emphasize that both facilities are held to an incredibly high standard and we would also go to the other facilities in the group in the dark ;)
The 14th-century Teutonic castle has been fantastically restored and prepared for accommodations. At times we felt like we were in a museum, as exhibits were on display in the corridors, the walls were hung with ornaments and paintings, the history of the place spoke to us from everywhere. Anyway, we recommend learning more about the castle’s history, such as taking special guided tours for hotel guests.
The rooms, although standard, are refined, nicely furnished and finished to a higher standard. We spent the night on the top floor and had a sloping ceiling in the room, which we had to watch out for sometimes, but on the other hand we had a view of the city and the lake.
We were particularly captivated by the hotel’s restaurant, and for several reasons. First of all, the restaurant is located in the former courtyard. It was roofed over, resulting in a large room in a knightly style with chandeliers, monuments hidden behind glass in the floor and many other historical touches. There is a special atmosphere during dinner, when the evening is enhanced by live music.
The food is buffet style, but everything (including drinks) is served by the staff. It should be added that the choice is large, and the food is very tasty. There are special dishes for children, which are ordered from the restaurant staff.
And since we are already with children – for them the very atmosphere of the place will be an attraction :) Just add some narrative, history and legends, and the stay will be unforgettable. In addition, of course, there is one chamber with toys for children, a swimming pool (although no paddling pool), and an outdoor playground.
Ryn Castle is the perfect place for a romantic weekend for two or an outing with friends.

PTTK Water Station Sorkwity
Finally, we have a suggestion for those who like nature, tent (or cabin) accommodation and a fantastic family atmosphere.
We have to admit that if we were only looking for accommodation, we probably wouldn’t have ended up here ourselves. However, our goal was to sail on water equipment, and it just so happened that we ran into fantastic people who not only rent equipment, but also run a statehouse in Sorkwity. And that was enough for us to fall in love with the place :)
This is the second place on the list where we did not stay overnight, but only enjoyed the attractions of the facility, but after a short stay we have no doubt that we would love to come here for longer.
We have already written about equipment rental and rafting on the Krutynia River in a post about attractions in Masuria, so we refer you there again. Here we will focus on the resort itself.
And at the outset we must point out that it is neither a luxury nor a modern facility. We can choose to stay in cottages of different standards, but thanks to this there is a choice, and if someone needs a cheap night’s stay, this is an ideal option. On top of that, you can stand up a camper or pitch a tent here. And it is this last option that is on our minds the most, if we were to return here.
The biggest attraction, of course, is the ability to rent equipment and learn to swim. You can set off on a canoe trip, but you can also take a leisurely dinghy, boat or pedal boat ride. On site we were able to go canoeing for the first time in our lives, for which of course we were properly trained :)
There is a Tavern on site, where you can eat delicious and homemade food, so you don’t have to worry about cooking.
Something that captivated us to the maximum, however, was the wonderful atmosphere. You can see that the handlers put all their heart into their work and ensure that everything works properly. Guests here are treated not as customers, but as family.
