Attractions for children in Lodz region
We visited all the places we describe below in person. With some descriptions we link to dedicated posts, although we have not yet managed to describe all the places on the list. Most are attractions typical for families with children, but you will also find places that, although at first glance they may seem of little interest to toddlers, a little willingness and parental involvement is enough to interest and encourage children to discover interesting places.
At the end of the text you will also find a map with all the attractions for children in Lodz province!
Ready? Random order:
1) Lodz and attractions for children
Let’s start with the provincial city, because there are definitely a multitude of attractions for families here. Starting with the Wave Aquapark, the zoo, which will show its completely new face later this year, the botanical garden, and the EC1 Science and Technology Center with Planetarium.
There are many green areas in Lodz, just in time for various physical activities, in addition, every now and then new and interesting playgrounds are created, which delight not only children. You can head out into the city in search of famous fairy tale characters or colorful murals, discover the Lodz of film or the industrial history of Lodz.
There was a dedicated post about attractions for children in Lodz, so we won’t repeat ourselves here. See Lodz – attractions for children.
>> We also recommend our post about
Orientarium and Zoo in Lodz
!
2) Dinopark Kolacinek
Dinopark Kolacinek is a real treat for small and big fans of dinosaurs! If you are looking for a dinopark in the Lodz province, the only one is in Kolacinek, near Brzeziny, about a 45-minute drive from Lodz.
Although it fares much more modestly than other dinosaur parks in Poland, it’s also cheaper, smaller (there’s less walking for short legs) and you can just test whether such a place will suit your children at all.
There is a marked path along which you can see dinosaurs, and there are quite a few additional attractions: you can play the role of a small archaeologist, look into the modest museum, play on the playground, ride the train or enter the “Fairy Tale Path”. Most of these attractions have an additional fee, which, at the end of the day, makes Dinopark in Kolacinko no longer come out much cheaper than other parks with dinosaurs ;)
Prices:
Normal ticket – 35 PLN
Discounted ticket – 32 PLN
Children under 3 years of age enter for free.
You can read more about the Dinopark in Kolacinek here.
3) Uniejów Thermal Baths
As for water attractions, apart from the aforementioned Aquapark Fala in Lodz, the most noteworthy are the thermal baths in Uniejow. At the same time, it is one of the most popular places in the province, so you have to expect big checkout lines. To avoid this, we recommend arriving in the evening or during the week.
The thermal baths in Uniejów are a thermal pool complex with hot brine springs that flow from a depth of more than 2,000 meters. The water in the pools is considered therapeutic, helping many ailments, and it is very warm so even with small children you can sit in the water here in peace.
There are indoor and outdoor pools, there are wading pools for children and slides.
Ceny:
Bilet normalny – 19-26 zł/godzinę
Discounted ticket – 17-23 PLN/hour (depending on the hour and day of the week)
Children under the age of 7 enter for free.
More information and photos can be found in the dedicated post: Termy Uniejów.

4) Borisew Zoo Safari
Zoo Safari in Borysewo is a large zoological park (26 hectares), just 2 kilometers from Poddębice.
It is the only place in Poland where you can see white African lions and white Bengal tigers, and they make the biggest splash among visitors. It should also be added that this is one of the few places where, under artificial conditions, white lions have already lived to see several offspring.
There are about 500 animals of 90 different species here, including giraffes, zebras, alpacas, llamas, pumas, oryxes, buffalo, tamarins and many, many more. In addition, there are other attractions for children: a mini zoo, show feeding, inflatables, pedal boats or a movie theater (most of which have an additional fee).
When planning a visit to Zoo Safari Borysew, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and take care to protect your head, as there is a lot of walking on site and a lack of shaded resting places.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 49 PLN
Discounted ticket – 39 PLN
Children under 3 years of age enter for free.
5) Castle in Leczyca
If you would like to show your children castles, we have two suggestions for you. The first of these is the Royal Castle in Leczyca.
The castle is open to the public and houses the Regional Museum. In the museum we can learn about what life was like in the Łęczyca countryside, learn about the history of the city, and even about prehistoric times associated with the region. The exhibit about the Devil Borut and his various incarnations is also interesting, although some children may find it a bit scary. The museum ticket includes access to the castle tower and a view of the immediate surroundings.
We especially recommend coming to Leczyca during the knightly tournaments held here (in late August).
Prices:
Normal ticket – 17 PLN
Discounted ticket – 10 PLN
We wrote more about the castle in Leczyca as part of our tour of the castles of Lodz province where you will also find a video of our trip.
6) Inowłodz Castle
Another castle worth visiting with children is the restored castle in Inowlodz. Inowłódz is a village about 17 kilometers east of Tomaszów Mazowiecki, now of little importance, but in the 14th century it was here that the castle of Casimir the Great was built.
Thanks to major financial support from the European Union, it was possible to open the castle to visitors in 2013. It is now possible to enter the courtyard, the tower and the basement where temporary exhibitions are located.
It is worthwhile to learn with children about the history of the castle and the legends associated with the building (for example, about the secret tunnel to St. Idzi’s Church).
Prices:
Normal ticket – 5 PLN
Discounted ticket – 3 PLN
We also wrote more about this castle as part of our tour of the castles of Lodz Province.
7) Arkadia Park and Palace in Nieborów
Although Arkadia Park and the Palace with a garden in Nieborów are two separate sites, they are located quite close to each other and are an ideal combination for a day trip in the Lodz region.
Arkadia and Nieborów are located between Łódź and Warsaw, and can be easily reached here via the A2 highway (exit for Łowicz).
Although at first glance these may not seem like typical attractions for children, we want to encourage you to include them on the map of interesting places for families with children in the Lodz region. On one side is a mysterious park, reminiscent of a mythical land, full of interesting objects (mostly ruins) and sculptures, and on the other is a tidy, beautiful garden along with a palace that can be visited.
Both the Park in Arkadia and the Palace in Nieborów belong to the National Museum in Warsaw, and by choosing to enter both sites, you can pay a little cheaper for tickets.
Prices:
Normal ticket – PLN 28 (combined ticket: Garden in Nieborów and Arcadia)
Concessionary ticket – PLN 2-16 (depending on the concession, combined ticket: Garden in Nieborów and Arcadia).
You can read more about the Palace in Nieborów and the Park in Arcadia, as part of a post with ideas for day trips in the Lodz region.

8) Rogowska Railway
The Rogowska Railway is a super attraction for all children, who will not pass by any train indifferently. Rogów is located about 12 kilometers east of Brzeziny, and it is easy to get here by train, if only on the Lodz Agglomeration Railway.
In Rogów, at the historic Rogów Narrow Gauge Freight Station, there are vintage trains that you can look into and enter. Here you’ll find antique units ranging from locomotives, to railcars, steam locomotives, a snowplow, and a 1930 postal ambulance. The station also has a small museum: “Warehouse No. 2,” where there are various railroad tools, archival photos, timetables, station clocks, and we can see what the office of the traffic officer looked like.
But what would a visit to such a place be without a ride on the famous narrow-gauge railway? During the season, on weekends, it is possible to travel by train a short 8-kilometer stretch to Yezhov and back.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 20 PLN
Discounted ticket – PLN 9.80-12.60 (round trip)
Children under 4 years old ride for free.
You can read more about the narrow-gauge railroad in Rogów in a dedicated post: Narrow Gauge Railroad in Rogow.
9) Arboretum in Rogów
While in Rogów, it is essential to see the Arboretum, one of the richest and most valuable arboretums in Europe.
For families with children, this is an ideal opportunity to take a walk among the greenery, take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, and at the same time gain knowledge of botany.
The facility is divided into three parts: the alpinarium, dendrological collections and forest experimental plots. In the alpinarium we can admire the plants that grow on the highest parts of the mountains. Right next door is the Garden of the World’s Vanishing Plants, a pond with fish, interesting exhibitions and arrangements. In the following parts of the arboretum, we will have a walk among plants that grow naturally in our climate zone, and among experimental areas.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 14 zł
Discounted ticket – 8 PLN
Children under 6 years of age enter for free.
We wrote more about the Arboretum on the occasion of the narrow-gauge railroad ride in a separate post: Arboretum in Rogów.
10) Levitin in Pabiania
Levitin is a recreational area in the southern part of Pabianice. This is a place for both relaxation and all kinds of activities, as the infrastructure here encourages you to hop on a bike or play volleyball.
So here we have beach volleyball courts, tennis courts, bicycle paths, a swimming area and the possibility to rent pedal boats. For children, there is a playground (including a water playground), a pumptrack and a rope park.
We recommend it, because it is a place less known and less frequently visited than Lodz Arturówek, but with equally good infrastructure and attractions for children.
Prices:
You can enter the area for free, but there is an additional fee, such as a rope park or renting pedal boats.
We wrote more about Levitin as part of our ideas for day trips in the Lodz region.
11) Blue Springs and Pilica River Open-Air Museum
Another proposal is to combine two different locations, located in Tomaszow Mazowiecki.
On one side of the street is the Blue Springs Nature Preserve, and on the other side is the Pilica River Open Air Museum – both places are a good idea for a day trip with children.
Blue Springs is a place where you can admire an optical phenomenon that creates colorful spots on the bottom of a body of water (mostly blue, turquoise or green). A walk around the lake is an opportunity to observe many birds, fish and amphibians. Learning about them includes an educational path with information boards.
The Pilica River Heritage Park is a collection of various objects and exhibits connected to the Pilica River. There is an old wooden mill (there are exhibitions inside), war vehicles, a shelter, a barge, and even a waiting room from the station in Czarnocin.
Prices:
You can enter the Blue Springs Preserve for free.
Pilica River Heritage Park:
Normal ticket – 7-9 PLN
Discounted ticket – 5-7 PLN
Children under 4 years of age enter for free.
We’ve written more about Blue Springs on Skansen as part of our ideas for day trips in the Lodz region.
12) Microcosm
There was something for fans of dinosaurs and trains, now it’s time for something for fans of all bugs :)
In Ujazd, about 12 kilometers north of Tomaszów Mazowiecki, the Microcosmos Park – a beautiful garden enriched with large insect sculptures – awaits you. So you can meet a giant mosquito, a ladybug, a bumblebee or a bee here, and at the same time learn a lot about them.
One walks around the park along a marked path, individual insects can be approached and even touched.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 19,99 PLN
Discounted ticket – 15,99 PLN
Children under 3 years of age enter for free.
More about the park can be found in our post about Microcosm near Ujazd.
13) Dobronianka
Dobronianka is a place we haven’t blogged about yet, but we will definitely do so this summer. Why only then? We were in Dobronianka in the autumn, we liked the place very much and decided to return in the spring to see it in a different way, to take greener photos. Unfortunately, construction work is currently underway at the site and the place is closed. According to the information on the fanpage, it should be open in June, but we want to encourage you to include it in your holiday plans now.
Dobronianka is a mini zoo about 8 kilometers west of Pabianice.
Here we can make friends with various animals: some of them walk freely throughout the facility, and some have special pens. Here we will see: kangaroos, donkeys, alpacas, goats, ponies, fallow deer, camels, swans and much more.
There is a place to relax here, and according to the announcement there is to be a beach this season :) We are already looking forward to it.
Prices:
So far, there is no information about prices for the new season.
14) Clement Orchards
Klemens Orchards is located between Lodz and Warsaw, about 7 kilometers east of Rawa Mazowiecka.
It is one of our favorite places in the province for a family vacation. Clement’s Orchards was built on the site of former apple orchards and is a great option for relaxing among the greenery, enriched with a mass of attractions for children: a giant sandbox, a water park with a paddling pool, a maze, trampolines, playgrounds, inflatables, an obstacle course…. Children can take a ride on a tiny and slow tractor train, ride go-karts, take a look at the Scarecrow or try their hand at the rope park.
For parents, there are rest areas with deck chairs and hammocks :)
Prices:
Normal ticket – 29 PLN
Discounted ticket – 25 PLN
Children under 2 years of age enter for 1 zl.
You can read more in Orchard Clement‘s dedicated post.
15) PGE Giants of Power
PGE Gigantes of Power is a thematic educational center in the very center of Belchatow. The main theme is, of course, the extraction and use of coal and other raw materials, but there are many other topics more loosely related to the industry (such as the history of the earth, nature, electricity and its impact on our lives).
A visit to PGE Giganta Mocy is a large dose of knowledge, conveyed in an accessible and attractive way for children. Many of the stations are interactive, and there are a variety of tasks for children to perform: from tasks on touch screens, to putting together puzzles, playing archaeologists, controlling heavy equipment or playing multimedia games.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 17 PLN
Discounted ticket – 12 PLN
Children under 3 years of age enter for free.
We mentioned more about the PGE Gigantes of Power exhibition during our entry on Belchatow and the surrounding area.
16) Góra Kamieńsk
Being in the vicinity of Belchatow, it is impossible not to mention the mine and Mt. Kamiensk, which is the highest elevation in the province of Lodz (it is an artificially raised hill).
There is a ski lift, a toboggan run, bicycle trails, inflatables and trampolines are staged at the foot of the mountain in summer, and a ski slope operates here in winter.
As you can see, the place is especially good for people who like to spend time actively. So if you want to try your hand at the ski slope, or ride interesting bicycle paths, the area around Kamieńsk Mountain will be a good option.
We also mentioned more about Mt. Kamiensk during the post about Belchatow and its surroundings.
17) Spalsky Landscape Park
Finally, something for fans of active recreation, especially if you take a liking to family bicycle tours.
We recommend you to take a trip to the Spalsky Landscape Park, abundant with interesting bicycle routes.
We recommend especially for families with children who will do several dozen kilometers on a unicycle (well, you know, a trailer and a child seat is also a good option ;) ), because then we can enrich the trip with a few interesting places in the area: Inowłódz (the above-mentioned castle), bunkers in Konewka or the bison statue in Spala.
Besides, the spal forests themselves are already great areas for bicycle tours, even the shorter ones.
18) Mandoria City of Adventure
Mandoria is a huge family amusement park, located near Lodz and fully under roof, making it a unique place for family fun. Among the attractions are three rollercoasters, one of which is the only one in the country offering a ride in the dark. In addition, the park boasts a number of carousels, an impressive maze of mirrors, boats on the water and a giant slide.
An entrance ticket to Mandoria allows you to enjoy all the attractions throughout the day, providing plenty of positive experiences and excitement. Mandoria provides a great place to stay active in the friendly atmosphere of a family amusement park.
You can read more about Mandoria in our post: Mandoria – the largest covered family amusement park – is it worth it? “ and on our YouTube channel “
Map of attractions for children in Lodz province
Below you will find a map with all the above points marked.
Summary
As you might have read above, the Lodz region abounds in attractions for families with children. There is something for both those who like to spend time actively, there is a place to relax, and there are many educational facilities.
Admittedly, we do not consider the topic exhausted, because there are many other interesting places in the area, especially when it comes to activities such as cycling, but this is a topic for a separate entry :)
In any case, our province is located in the center of Poland, so everyone is close here :) You are cordially invited!
Let us know in the comments if you know the places we described or what we should add to the list!
