Attractions for children in Lodz region
We visited all the places we describe below in person. With some descriptions we link to dedicated posts, although we have not yet managed to describe all the places on the list. Most are attractions typical for families with children, but you will also find places that, although at first glance they may seem of little interest to toddlers, a little willingness and parental involvement is enough to interest and encourage children to discover interesting places. We also make no secret of the fact that some places on the list will absorb even adults traveling without children.
At the end of the text you will also find a map with all the attractions for children in Lodz province!
Ready? Random order:
1) Lodz and attractions for children
Let’s start with the provincial city, because there are definitely a multitude of attractions for families here. Starting from the Aquapark Fala, through the Zoo with its famous Orientarium, the Botanical Garden, the Museum of the City of Lodz, to the EC1 Science and Technology Center with its Planetarium.
There are many green areas in Lodz, just in time for various physical activities, in addition to which new and interesting playgrounds are being built every now and then, which delight not only the youngest. You can head out into the city in search of famous fairy tale characters or colorful murals, discover the Lodz of film or the industrial history of Lodz.
There was a dedicated post about attractions for children in Lodz, so we won’t repeat ourselves here. See Lodz – attractions for children.
>> We also recommend our post about
Orientarium and Zoo in Lodz
!
2) Dinopark Kolacinek
Dinopark Kolacinek is a real treat for small and big fans of dinosaurs! If you are looking for a dinopark in the Lodz province, the only one is in Kolacinek, near Brzeziny, about a 45-minute drive from Lodz.
Although it fares much more modestly than other dinosaur parks in Poland, it’s also cheaper, smaller (there’s less walking for short legs) and you can just test whether such a place will suit your children at all.
There is a marked path along which you can see dinosaurs, and there are quite a few additional attractions: you can play the role of a small archaeologist, look into the modest museum, play on the playground, ride the train or enter the “Fairy Tale Path”. Most of these attractions have an additional fee, which, at the end of the day, makes Dinopark in Kolacinko no longer come out much cheaper than other parks with dinosaurs ;)
Prices:
Normal ticket – 64 zł
Discounted ticket – 55 PLN
Children under 3 years of age enter for free.
You can read more about the Dinopark in Kolacinek here.
3) Uniejów Thermal Baths
As for water attractions, apart from the aforementioned Aquapark Fala in Lodz, the most noteworthy are the thermal baths in Uniejow. At the same time, it is one of the most popular places in the province, so you have to expect big checkout lines. To avoid this, we recommend arriving in the evening or during the week.
The thermal baths in Uniejów are a thermal pool complex with hot brine springs that flow from a depth of more than 2,000 meters. The water in the pools is considered therapeutic, helping many ailments, and it is very warm so even with small children you can sit in the water here in peace.
There are indoor and outdoor pools, there are wading pools for children and slides.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 30-48 PLN/hour (depending on the hour and day of the week)
Discounted ticket – 26-42 PLN/hour (depending on the hour and day of the week)
Children under the age of 7 enter for free.
More information and photos can be found in the dedicated post: Termy Uniejów.

4) Borisew Zoo Safari
Zoo Safari in Borysewo is a large zoological park (26 hectares), just 2 kilometers from Poddębice.
It is the only place in Poland where you can see white African lions and white Bengal tigers, and they make the biggest splash among visitors. It should also be added that this is one of the few places where, under artificial conditions, white lions have already lived to see several offspring.
There are about 500 animals of 90 different species here, including giraffes, zebras, alpacas, llamas, pumas, oryxes, buffalo, tamarins and many, many more. In addition, there are other attractions for children: a mini zoo, show feeding, inflatables, pedal boats or a movie theater (most of which have an additional fee).
When planning a visit to Zoo Safari Borysew, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and take care to protect your head, as there is a lot of walking on site and a lack of shaded resting places.
Ceny:
Normal ticket – 65 zł
Discounted ticket – 59 PLN
Children under 3 years of age enter for free.
5) Castle in Leczyca
If you would like to show your children castles, we have two suggestions for you. The first of these is the Royal Castle in Leczyca.
The castle is open to the public and houses the Regional Museum. In the museum we can learn about what life was like in the Łęczyca countryside, learn about the history of the city, and even about prehistoric times associated with the region. The exhibit about the Devil Borut and his various incarnations is also interesting, although some children may find it a bit scary. The museum ticket includes access to the castle tower and a view of the immediate surroundings.
We especially recommend coming to Leczyca during the knightly tournaments held here (in late August).
Ceny:
Normal ticket – 28 zł
Discounted ticket – 22 PLN
Children under 5 years of age enter for free.
We wrote more about the castle in Leczyca as part of our tour of the castles of Lodz province where you will also find a video of our trip.
6) Inowłodz Castle
Another castle worth visiting with children is the restored castle in Inowlodz. Inowłódz is a village about 17 kilometers east of Tomaszów Mazowiecki, now of little importance, but in the 14th century it was here that the castle of Casimir the Great was built.
Thanks to major financial support from the European Union, it was possible to open the castle to visitors in 2013. It is now possible to enter the courtyard, the tower and the basement where temporary exhibitions are located.
It is worthwhile to learn with children about the history of the castle and the legends associated with the building (for example, about the secret tunnel to St. Idzi’s Church).
Ceny:
Normal ticket – 10 PLN
Discounted ticket – 5 PLN
We also wrote more about this castle as part of our tour of the castles of Lodz Province.
7) Arkadia Park and Palace in Nieborów
Although Arkadia Park and the Palace with a garden in Nieborów are two separate sites, they are located quite close to each other and are an ideal combination for a day trip in the Lodz region.
Arkadia and Nieborów are located between Łódź and Warsaw, and can be easily reached here via the A2 highway (exit for Łowicz).
Although at first glance these may not seem like typical attractions for children, we want to encourage you to include them on the map of interesting places for families with children in the Lodz region. On one side is a mysterious park, reminiscent of a mythical land, full of interesting objects (mostly ruins) and sculptures, and on the other is a tidy, beautiful garden along with a palace that can be visited.
Both the Park in Arkadia and the Palace in Nieborów belong to the National Museum in Warsaw, and by choosing to enter both sites, you can pay a little cheaper for tickets.
Ceny:
Normal ticket – PLN 32 (combined ticket: Garden in Nieborów and Arcadia)
Discounted ticket – PLN 2.10-22 (depending on discount, combined ticket: Garden in Nieborów and Arcadia).
You can read more about the Palace in Nieborów and the Park in Arcadia, as part of a post with ideas for day trips in the Lodz region.

8) Rogowska Railway
The Rogowska Railway is a super attraction for all children, who will not pass by any train indifferently. Rogów is located about 12 kilometers east of Brzeziny, and it is easy to get here by train, even if it is the Lodz Agglomeration Railway.
In Rogów, at the historic Rogów Narrow Gauge Freight Station, there are vintage trains that you can look into and enter. Here you’ll find antique units ranging from locomotives, to railcars, steam locomotives, a snowplow, and a 1930 postal ambulance. The station also has a small museum: “Warehouse No. 2,” where there are various railroad tools, archival photos, timetables, station clocks, and we can see what the office of the traffic officer looked like.
But what would a visit to such a place be without a ride on the famous narrow-gauge railway? During the season, on weekends, it is possible to travel by train a short 8-kilometer stretch to Yezhov and back.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 30 PLN (round trip)
Discounted ticket – 14,70 – 18,90 zloty (round trip)
Children under 4 years old ride for free.
You can read more about the narrow-gauge railroad in Rogów in a dedicated post: Narrow Gauge Railroad in Rogow.
9) Arboretum in Rogów
While in Rogów, it is essential to see the Arboretum, one of the richest and most valuable arboretums in Europe.
For families with children, this is an ideal opportunity to take a walk among the greenery, take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, and at the same time gain knowledge of botany.
The facility is divided into three parts: the alpinarium, dendrological collections and forest experimental plots. In the alpinarium we can admire the plants that grow on the highest parts of the mountains. Right next door is the Garden of the World’s Vanishing Plants, a pond with fish, interesting exhibitions and arrangements. In the following parts of the arboretum, we will have a walk among plants that grow naturally in our climate zone, and among experimental areas.
Ceny:
Normal ticket – 16 zł
Discounted ticket – 10 PLN
Children under 6 years of age enter for free.
We wrote more about the Arboretum on the occasion of the narrow-gauge railroad ride in a separate post: Arboretum in Rogów.
10) Levitin in Pabiania
Levitin is a recreational area in the southern part of Pabianice. This is a place for both relaxation and all kinds of activities, as the infrastructure here encourages you to hop on a bike or play volleyball.
So here we have beach volleyball courts, tennis courts, bicycle paths, a swimming area and the possibility to rent pedal boats. For children, there is a playground (including a water playground), a pumptrack and a rope park.
We recommend it, because it is a place less known and less frequently visited than Lodz Arturówek, but with equally good infrastructure and attractions for children.
Ceny:
You can enter the area for free, but there is an additional fee, such as a rope park or renting pedal boats.
We wrote more about Levitin as part of our ideas for day trips in the Lodz region.
11) Blue Springs and Pilica River Open-Air Museum
Another proposal is to combine two different locations, located in Tomaszow Mazowiecki.
On one side of the street is the Blue Springs Nature Preserve, and on the other side is the Pilica River Open Air Museum – both places are a good idea for a day trip with children.
Blue Springs is a place where you can admire an optical phenomenon that creates colorful spots on the bottom of a body of water (mostly blue, turquoise or green). A walk around the lake is an opportunity to observe many birds, fish and amphibians. Learning about them includes an educational path with information boards.
The Pilica River Heritage Park is a collection of various objects and exhibits connected to the Pilica River. There is an old wooden mill (there are exhibitions inside), war vehicles, a shelter, a barge, and even a waiting room from the station in Czarnocin.
Ceny:
You can enter the Blue Springs Preserve for free.
Pilica River Heritage Park:
Normal ticket – 7-9 PLN
Discounted ticket – 5-7 PLN
Children under 4 years of age enter for free.
We’ve written more about Blue Springs on Skansen as part of our ideas for day trips in the Lodz region.
12) Microcosm
There was something for fans of dinosaurs and trains, now it’s time for something for fans of all bugs :)
In Ujazd, about 12 kilometers north of Tomaszów Mazowiecki, the Microcosmos Park – a beautiful garden enriched with large insect sculptures – awaits you. So you can meet a giant mosquito, a ladybug, a bumblebee or a bee here, and at the same time learn a lot about them.
One walks around the park along a marked path, individual insects can be approached and even touched.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 26,90 PLN
Discounted ticket – 21,90 PLN
Children under 3 years of age enter for free.
More about the park can be found in our post about Microcosm near Ujazd.
13) Dobronianka
Dobronianka is a mini zoo about 8 kilometers west of Pabianice. It is an expansive area with pens with animals, a playground, a picnic area and a family recreation area.
The facility underwent a major renovation in 2021 – since then the place has been bustling with activity, hosting various events and changing with the seasons and holidays.
Here you can see alpacas, donkeys, ponies, camels, kangaroos, fennecs, porcupines, skunks, munjacs, fallow deer, goats, reindeer, turtles, rabbits and much more. The animals are in pens, some can be stroked, but it is always advisable to exercise great caution.
There is a playground, a water area, a beach with a stage and a beach bar. You can also rent a pedal boat for a fee and swim on the pond. There is also an additional fee for an inflatable area for children aged 3 and under.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 45 zł
Discounted ticket – 40 PLN
Children under 3 years of age enter for free.
14) Clement Orchards
Klemens Orchards is located between Lodz and Warsaw, about 7 kilometers east of Rawa Mazowiecka.
It is one of our favorite places in the province for a family vacation. Clement’s Orchards was built on the site of former apple orchards and is a great option for relaxing among the greenery, enriched with a mass of attractions for children: a giant sandbox, a water park with a paddling pool, a maze, trampolines, playgrounds, inflatables, an obstacle course…. Children can take a ride on a tiny and slow tractor train, ride go-karts, take a look at the Scarecrow or try their hand at the rope park.
For parents, there are rest areas with deck chairs and hammocks :)
Prices:
Normal ticket – 59 PLN
Discounted ticket – 55 PLN
Children under 2 years of age enter for 1 zl.
You can read more in Orchard Clement‘s dedicated post.
15) PGE Giants of Power
PGE Gigantes of Power is a thematic educational center in the very center of Belchatow. The main theme is, of course, the extraction and use of coal and other raw materials, but there are many topics more loosely related to the industry here (e.g., the history of the earth, nature, electricity and its impact on our lives).
A visit to PGE Giganta Mocy is a large dose of knowledge, conveyed in an accessible and attractive way for children. Many of the stations are interactive, and there are a variety of tasks for children to perform: from tasks on touch screens, to putting together puzzles, playing archaeologists, controlling heavy equipment or playing multimedia games.
Prices:
Normal ticket -20-22 PLN (depending on whether you buy online or at the box office)
Reduced ticket – PLN 15-17 (depending on whether you buy online or at the box office)
Children under 3 years of age enter for free.
We mentioned more about the PGE Gigantes of Power exhibition during our entry on Belchatow and the surrounding area.
16) Góra Kamieńsk
Being in the vicinity of Belchatow, it is impossible not to mention the mine and Mt. Kamiensk, which is the highest hill in the province of Lodz (while remembering that it is artificially raised).
There is a ski lift, a toboggan run, bicycle trails, inflatables and trampolines are staged at the foot of the mountain in summer, and a ski slope operates in winter.
As you can see, the place is particularly suitable for people who like to spend time actively. So if you want to try your hand at the ski slope, or ride interesting bicycle paths, the area around Kamieńsk Mountain will be a good option.
We also mentioned more about Mt. Kamiensk during the post about Belchatow and its surroundings.
17) Spalsky Landscape Park
It’s time for another place for fans of active recreation, especially if you take a liking to family bicycle tours.
We recommend you to take a trip to the Spalsky Landscape Park, abundant with interesting bicycle routes.
We recommend especially for families with children who will do several dozen kilometers on a unicycle (well, you know, a trailer and a child seat is also a good option ;) ), because then we can enrich the trip with a few interesting places in the area: Inowłódz (the above-mentioned castle), bunkers in Konewka or the bison statue in Spala.
Besides, the spal forests themselves are already great areas for bicycle tours, even the shorter ones.
18) Bunkers in Konewka
Invoked in the point above :) This time an attraction for slightly older children, especially those interested in militaria and history.
The Konewka bunkers, located near Spala, are a unique attraction for history buffs, especially World War II enthusiasts. The “Gefechtsstand Anlage Mitte” complex is primarily a massive, more than 380-meter-long railroad shelter that houses an exhibition with vehicles, military equipment and models of bunkers and trains. In addition to the main shelter, there are also smaller technical shelters on the site – a boiler room, a hydrophore room, and a power plant. The 80-meter-long underground tunnel connecting the railroad bunker to the power plant is open to the public during the summer season.
The tour lasts about an hour and provides an interesting history lesson, transporting tourists to the realities of World War II.
Prices:
Normal ticket -21 PLN
Discounted ticket – 16 PLN
Children under the age of 7 enter for free.
19) Mantadia MiniZoo
Mantadia is a small area in Konstantynów Lodz, where you can meet a variety of animal species, including exotic lemurs, servals, alpacas, ostriches, owls and native species such as rabbits, goats and donkeys. Some animals are confined to aviaries, enclosures, and some walk freely on the grounds. The biggest attraction is the opportunity to feed the animals, especially the lemurs (food must be purchased on site)
There is a playground for children and a “beach” relaxation area where the whole family can relax and have snacks.
Prices:
Normal ticket -25 zł
Discounted ticket – PLN 20
Children up to 90 cm enter for free.
20) Lisowice
The Lisowice recreation and leisure complex is located between Koluszki and Brzeziny. It is most popular in the summer because of its water attractions, but you can also come here in the other seasons to enjoy at least some of the prepared infrastructure.
Typical summer attractions include a swimming area with a sandy beach, outdoor pools, a wake park, water slide, kayak and pedal boat rentals. On top of that, there is a rope park, beach soccer fields, places for bonfires, a playground, an outdoor gym and designated paths and footbridges for walking.
The place is available for free, but you have to pay for some attractions.
21) Aflopark
Aflopark is a picturesque garden located on the border of Pabianice and Ksawerowo. It consists of two parts – a smaller one in Ksawerowo and a larger one on the Pabianice side, separated by Widzewska Street. The entrance is in Pabianice, where tickets can be purchased at the ticket office, and from there the walk around the extensive grounds begins.
A variety of carefully designed themed spaces await visitors: water gardens, an English rose garden, flower meadows, heathlands, a vegetable garden, as well as garden architectural features such as hornbeam arches. The Pabianice section also features a playground with a giant grasshopper and a traditional plaza with attractions for children, including a mud kitchen next to the cafe.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 18zł
Discounted ticket – 12 PLN
Children under the age of 7 enter for free.
22) Mandoria
Mandoria is the only typical amusement park in the Lodz province. Although it is often said to be in Lodz it is actually located outside its borders, in Rzgow.
Mandoria City of Adventure is where you’ll find carousels and rides for smaller children alongside rollercoasters, so there’s something for everyone. There are dozens of attractions here, and this number is growing, and soon there will be a new rollercoaster. At the moment there are 3 roller coasters, many carousels, a maze of mirrors, boats, a monkey grove, slides and much more. The whole place is styled as a medieval town, which gives it a unique character. Also unique is that the place is fully covered, so you can use everything all year round!
We recommend checking what attractions your children will be able to enjoy before visiting to avoid disappointment on the spot. The site describes all of them along with the required height.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 129 PLN
Children under 85 cm in height – 0 zł
You can read more about Mandoria in our post and see in the video on YT.
23) Steam depot in Skierniewice
Steam locomotive depot Skierniewice is a unique open-air museum run by enthusiasts from the Polish Association of Railway Lovers.
It’s a place where you can almost step back in time and feel the atmosphere of past rail travel during open days held once a month or at special events.
More than 100 vintage vehicles await visitors, including:
- Steam locomotives of various types and series
- Electric and diesel locomotives
- Passenger and freight cars
- Draglines, cranes and other railroad equipment
But it’s not just vehicles that are at issue here. The most interesting site is the historic fan hall with a turntable – an impressive example of railroad architecture from the 19th century.
Experienced guides – true railroad enthusiasts – are eager to share their knowledge and tell fascinating stories about the exhibits and the steam locomotive depot.
Admission to the steam locomotive depot is free, and donations dropped in the box or made online go towards the further development of this unique place.
You can read more about the Skierniewice steam locomotive depot in a dedicated post.
24) Fish house
Rybakówka Święty Spokój is a popular vacation spot in Lodz province, located between Lodz and Piotrków Trybunalski. Located among charming fish ponds, Rybakówka offers relaxation surrounded by nature, with a beach, green areas.
There is a restaurant, a playground, a tent with vending machines, a beach with sun loungers, a waterfall, walking trails, and it is possible to rent pedal boats.
25) Nagórzyckie Grottoes
In Tomaszow Mazowiecki, a tourist route has been made available in a former quartz sand mine, providing a glimpse into the history of sand mining in the area.
The route is not very long, only 160 meters, but while crossing the special footbridge, you can not only see the prepared niches with scenes, but also learn about the ways of sand mining in the region, from the primitive ones to more complicated techniques and equipment. This kind of tour will probably be more interesting for children than another museum :)
Tours of the Grottoes of the Mountains are only possible with a guide, in groups, and take about 30 minutes.
Prices:
Normal ticket – 25 PLN
Discounted ticket – 18 PLN
26) Valley of the Gnomes
Valley of the Gnomes in Chociszewo, is located about 30 km from Lodz. It is a magical place where gnome stories and Slavic legends intermingle in an unusual way, attracting not only the youngest but also adult lovers of fairy tales.
The tour of this place is done in groups, under the guidance of a Gnome Guide, called Gnomeologist, who knows everything about gnomes! He knows where they hide, what secrets they keep, what their lives are like….
The tour includes a walk through the park and a workshop.
Prices:
Ticket – 40 PLN
Map of attractions for children in Lodz province
Below you will find a map with all the above points marked.
Summary
As you might have read above, the Lodz region abounds in attractions for families with children. There is something for both those who like to spend time actively, there is a place to relax, and there are also educational facilities.
Admittedly, we do not consider the topic exhausted, because there are many other interesting places in the area, especially when it comes to activities such as cycling, but this is a topic for a separate entry :)
In any case, our province is located in the center of Poland, so everyone is close here :) You are cordially invited!
Let us know in the comments if you know the places we described or what we should add to the list!
