The Film District in Zalesie Górne near Warsaw is a rather unusual attraction in Poland. This is the place where we will see vehicles, characters, elements from well-known movies and fairy tales. In addition, there are numerous attractions for children, and the whole thing is located in the forest…. We invite you to read on and see if this is the place for you.
The Film District is a place that has been on our list of places to see for at least a year now. Many times we came across referrals not only as one-dayers from Warsaw, but even from Lodz. And you have to admit that even from the center of Poland you can get here quickly – going by car on Sunday morning, we got here in 1:10 hours. The Film District is located south of Warsaw, behind Piaseczno, and it will take about 30-40 minutes to get there from the center of the capital, with low traffic.
Sound like a good idea for a day trip?
Let’s find out!

About the Film District
The Movie District is the name of the theme park, which features many vehicles and attributes native to box office, movie productions. It is not enclosed – it is a fenced forest area with several buildings, but most of the models and attractions are under the cloud. This is both a plus and a minus for the place. Plus, because you can really feel the forest around you, there is fresh air, kids can get out running among the trees. Minus, because as it happens in nature – there is no trimmed lawn, sometimes it gets dusty a lot, and when it rains everything can be wet….
Immediately upon entering, we are greeted by a gift store and the first vehicles and robots. Without a doubt, the most impressive are the tall Transformers, which can be seen as soon as you pass the gates. It is here that toddlers rush right away and adults, too, are eager to pose for photos with undisguised smiles.
This first part of the Film District has the most vehicles. Because it must be added that this place, is not only film objects but also many other sculptures, vehicles and attractions for children.
Around the film
Don’t be surprised if we go back in time in the Film District. We will recall the movies of our childhood and even older ones. This will be helped by prepared models, sets, heroes, information boards and even music flying in the speakers (soundtracks from famous movies).
Here we will see cars from such films as Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Harry Potter, James Bond and Mad Max.
Most of the vehicles can be boarded…. and we would record this as a plus for the place, but unfortunately making the vehicles available to visitors has caused the vehicles to deteriorate. Unfortunately, the cars are vandalized, you can see that the children are quite eager to touch everything, play, and even pull out car parts by force. In addition, most of it is under a cloud, so weather conditions also do their part.
The theme park also features garages and covered platforms styled after specific movies, but also in a general theme, such as a fire station, Route 66 or the Academy Awards Gala. Especially noteworthy is the hangar with movie motorcycles.
A big attraction for the youngest will certainly be: a Tom Tom locomotive and vehicles from the all-famous Cars, with Lightning McQueen in the lead.
Additional attractions in the Film District
At the site we will see many other interesting vehicles and more.
There are Monster Trucks, military vehicles, a helicopter and even an airplane that you can enter and sit at its controls.
Among the quieter experiences is a walk among dinosaurs, aquatic animals, dragons, fairy tale characters or giant mushrooms. Also interesting are metal sculptures of animals and sculptures made from used tires.
Of course, what would such a place be without the usual attractions for children? And while we are not fond of noisy merry-go-rounds and inflatables, the kids love them and eagerly jumped on all of them. At this point it is necessary to emphasize the undoubted advantage of the Film District – all carousels and other attractions on site are FREE, i.e. included in the ticket price.
Free of charge are the aforementioned rides, and free is also mini golf, large trampolines, a monkey grove and, of course, the traditional playground.
For toddlers
We always pay great attention to adapting the facility to navigate with a stroller, changing tables and facilities for the youngest visitors in general.
In the Film District, a cobblestone path has recently been prepared so moving around the facility with a stroller is made easier (we know that earlier guests reported this as a problem, that not everywhere could be reached with a stroller).
Playgrounds are not likely to be for the youngest, but there is a special playroom for them – in a separate building there are pools of soft blocks filled with balls, merry-go-rounds, blocks, etc. Here there is also a toilet with a changing table. Super place for toddlers.
Catering
There is a bar serving grilled food – you can order grilled sausage, fries, something to drink. In addition, there is an ice cream stand (small balls).
Opening hours of the Film District
Currently, the facility is only open to individual visitors on weekends from 10 am to 6 pm.
Getting to the Film District
The Film District is located approx. 30-40 minutes south of Warsaw, outside Piaseczno, in Zalesie Górne. Driving from Warsaw, take road 79 south, after Piaseczno turn into road number 873.
From this road diverges Holiday Street, where the Film District is located. Theoretically, you can’t drive up to the site itself (although some people try), and you should leave your car in the parking lot in the forest (it will take about 5-10 minutes to get there). Parking is free, although we have read reviews that it happens that someone stands here and charges for parking – it is not anyone from the Film District.
The possibility of commuting by train is encouraging. There is a train station in Zalesie, from which it is only 500 meters to the Film District.
Prices, how much does a ticket to the Film District cost?
Prices are as follows:
- Normal ticket – 49 zloty,

- Family ticket (2+2) – 175 zloty.
Children before the completion of 1. years of age enter for free.

Our opinion about the Film District
The Film District has tremendous potential. We know of no other place in Poland where there would be such an accumulation of film-related objects. Importantly, the site is constantly changing – when we look at maps from a season ago, the facility looks completely different now: some of the vehicles are gone, new ones have appeared in their place.
Despite the fact that some of them are badly scarred by the teeth of time, and weather conditions and visitors have not spared them, they are still interesting objects that many people enjoy taking pictures with.
We were in the Film District right after returning from the United States, and it was a pleasant surprise to see vehicles we knew from roads or museums in the US.
The entry was created in cooperation with the Film District theme park.
