A visit to JuraPark Bałtów can be a great adventure not only for small and big dinosaur fans…. The Bałtów Tourist Complex is full of attractions for the whole family, and it is these other attractions that make it worth staying here for the whole day.
We make no secret of the fact that we have set the bar pretty high when it comes to dinosaur parks. We already have a few of these to our credit, as we have two on board who love dinosaurs and know more about them than many adults. The first such park we visited was Dinopark Kolacinek, then we viewed prehistoric reptiles at Germany’s Saurierpark, and most recently at JuraPark in Krasiejów. And it was after visiting the latter that we decided to visit Bałtów and the local JuraPark.
Bałtów is located in the Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship, in its northeastern part, about 18 kilometers from Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski. This is a village that has become famous throughout Poland precisely because of the tourist complex that has been built here. Because you need to know that Bałtów is not only JuraPark – rather, we should write about Bałtów Tourist Complex, within which there is JuraPark but also many other attractions about which you will read below.
Why is it that the first Jurassic park in Poland was created in Bałtów? It was in and around Baltow that traces of Tyrannosaurus, Stegosaurus and Compsognathus were discovered! Thanks to the work of many people, enthusiasts and the local community, JuraPark was able to open in 2004.

JuraPark Bałtów
Let’s start our tour of the complex with the most obvious part – JuraPark.
As in Krasiejów, a walk through the JuraPark in Bałtów is a walk through different eras and periods. The path is prepared in such a way that after going to the various zones, visitors will learn about the organisms that lived during the period.
At first, it may be less interesting and a bit boring, because children can’t wait to see these larger, more powerful dinosaurs that lived in the Cretaceous and Jurassic. But don’t let go and continue along the marked path with dinosaur tracks to reach the giant diplodocus or see the clash between the tyrannosaurus and the triceratops herd.
Don’t be surprised by a paleontology-related zone appearing out of nowhere between periods. This is Gondwana, a land that seems to have been intended as an interlude to time travel – here we have educational boards, a tent where a park employee talks about various fossils, a sandbox with a dinosaur skeleton, and tables to rest and eat before continuing the journey through the ages.
A trip through JuraPark is an interesting, educational experience. Each dinosaur is described in great detail, and reproduced in even greater detail :)
Finally, there is the Jurassic Museum, where you can see dinosaur footprints, fossils and models of extinct organisms.
Ending the adventure at JuraPark, children can have fun at the large playground and eat at one of several food outlets (choices include ice cream, waffles, hamburgers, fish, etc.).

Other attractions in the Bałtów Tourist Complex
JuraPark is just one of more than 10 attractions in the Bałtów Tourist Complex. When arriving at the site, it is worth checking out the current offer and purchasing combination tickets that will give you the opportunity to look at different places at better prices.
Prehistoric Oceanarium
Closely related to JuraPark, and also closest to it, is the prehistoric Oceanarium. At the entrance everyone gets special glasses with which you will be able to watch underwater animals in 3D. There are several rooms with short screenings, and you have to walk very carefully between them, as there is darkness inside.
Baltow’s Zwierzyniec
Another place to visit is the Bałtów Animal Sanctuary, a safari where you can drive around in your own car or take one of the yellow buses that will take you around between the animals. We chose the first option and started along the designated route in our car. This gives you the opportunity to stop when and where you want, although you have to take into account that there is a queue of cars behind you, so longer stops are not advisable.
If you drive your own car, you can stop for a longer time at a designated picnic area right next to the bison enclosure (it’s a pity we didn’t know about it earlier, because we would have definitely spent more time here!).
What other animals can be viewed from behind car windows? There are camels, ostriches, emu, sheep, goats, deer, llamas, ponies, alpacas and many others. Some of them have fenced enclosures, and some of them walk around all over the place, so you have to drive very carefully.
The Zwierzyniec described above is called the Upper Zwierzyniec, and a little lower, closer to the JuraPark, there is still the Lower Zwierzyniec, which is no longer entered by car. It is such a mini zoo with birds and small mammals.
Miniature Park, Poland in Miniature
Close to Zwierzyniec Górny is Poland in Miniature, or mock-ups of objects from all over Poland. Interestingly, all objects are placed on a projection of Poland, which is best seen on satellite images (streams are rivers, ponds are lakes, and rocks are mountains).
Don’t be surprised if you don’t recognize many of the objects at first glance – the palaces and castles are depicted in their heyday, so a lot differs from what we can admire in Poland today. Unfortunately, many of the miniatures are deteriorated, with their individual parts falling off.
Sabbatical
Driving down from Poland in Miniature, the next place is Sabatovka – a small Slavic settlement, full of legends, myths and sorcery. Here you can learn a lot about Slavic beliefs, fairy tales and witches. Children can take part in various tasks and competitions.
…and others :)
Like Krasiejów, Bałtów also has an amusement park with merry-go-rounds, inflatables, a train, toy cars and even a roller coaster.
Still not enough? There are many seasonal attractions such as water attractions, ski slope, ice rink and Santa Claus village.
You can read about the availability of all attractions on the facility’s website here.
Prices in the Bałtów Tourist Complex
Currently, the Baltow Complex operates under slightly different rules than normal. Special educational packages are available, which unfortunately cannot be purchased online.
We will give you sample prices below, but we encourage you to check the current price list on the complex’s website, because the situation is dynamic and changes from week to week :)
Basic package (JuraPark, Museum and Oceanarium):
Normal ticket– 42 zloty
Discounted ticket – 35 PLN
Children under 3 years of age – 1 zloty
Educational Adventure Package (Basic Package + Poland in Miniature, Sabbatical, Zwierzyniec):
Normal Ticket– 74 zlotys
Discounted ticket – 65 PLN
Children under 3 years of age – 1 zloty
You can also buy entrances only to Sabatica, Zwierzyniec or Poland in Miniature, but we strongly recommend buying packages.
Please note, on site at the ticket offices, it is not possible to pay by card (although inside in restaurants and stores card and contactless payments are accepted).
Catering
As we mentioned above, there are several food outlets on site. Most are located after the entrance to JuraPark – there are booths selling ice cream, waffles and other sweets, but also serving fries, fish, burgers.
Also in Sabbatical there is a café.
In addition, several restaurants are located around the attraction and in Baltow itself, such as. Bałtowski Zapiecek, Zajazd pod Czarcią Stopką or Zajazd pod Jarem.
For families with young children
Is it worth coming to Bałtów with a baby? In our opinion, no, because he won’t have fun with it anyway and won’t remember much. Most attractions and playgrounds are for older children, 2-3 year olds will already have fun.
However, it is worth knowing that with a stroller you will easily pass through the entire JuraPark. On top of that, there is a special room for a caregiver with a baby with a feeding chair, toys, and a changing table by the restaurant section.
Getting to Bałtów
Bałtów is located in the northeastern part of Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship, on the Kamienna River.
It takes about 2 h 30 m to get there from Warsaw, and more than 3 h from Lodz. The best way to get here is to head for Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, and then take road No. 754 in the direction of Lublin. After about 17 kilometers you will reach Bałtów, and the Bałtów Tourist Complex is on the right, on the other side of the Kamienna River.
There is plenty of free parking on site, to which employees of the complex will direct you. Of course, the earlier you arrive, the greater the chance that you will park closer to the entrance.
Bałtów can also be reached from Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski by bus number 110.

Where to stay overnight in the Bałtów area?
We stayed overnight at Gosciniec Baba Jagna in the village of Chocimów, about 12 kilometers west of Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski. We can safely recommend the place to you, however, only if you are traveling by car. It will take you about 30 minutes to get to Bałtów. The guesthouse is located in a quiet environment, at the end of the road.
There are fallow deer, cats and dogs on site, so children will be delighted ;) In addition, a horse stud operates here. The hosts are very kind, helpful and hospitable, and will be happy to prepare your meals for you after a busy day.

Other attractions near Bałtów
If you would like to enrich your trip with additional attractions, there are plenty of places in the area where you can both relax in nature, learn about the history of the region or see interesting sites.
Holy Cross or Lysa Gora is the second highest peak in the Swietokrzyskie Mountains. It is worth going to the mountain to admire the beautiful panorama of the area, the Holy Cross Solstice and to see the Monastery of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate located here. The ascent to the summit is fairly easy, from the parking lot in Huta Szklana it is about 3 kilometers along a paved road. There are also melaxes running here, which will take you to the top for 10 zl.
There is also a Medieval Settlement and Babyjagovo in Glassworks.
Less than 20 km from Bałtów, in Ćmielów it is worth visiting the Live Porcelain Museum, where you can learn about the entire process of porcelain production, take part in workshops, see an exhibition of porcelain products.
A highly recommended place is the Archeological Museum and the Silica Mines. Unfortunately, it is currently undergoing renovation work and is completely inaccessible to the public, but looking at the reviews and the description of the place, it is worth keeping an eye out and waiting for the opening.
If you are looking for places similar to the Baltowski Tourist Complex, then two places may interest you: Świetokrzyska Polana and Sabat Krajno Amusement and Miniature Park. These places are closer to Kielce and both offer plenty of fun for the little ones (there are playgrounds, inflatables, miniature buildings and more).
And if we are already at attractions for children and you are planning a longer trip in the Świętokrzyskie region, it is worth including in your itinerary The European Fairy Tale Center named after him. Koziołek Matołek in Pacanów. It will be an interesting journey into the world of fairy tales, fables and legends.
Of the more distant sites, the following are certainly worthy of note
Krzyżtopór Castle
in Ujazd and
Sandomierz
.

Is it worth going to Bałtów?
As you might have read above, JuraPark Bałtów and the Bałtów Tourist Complex are an interesting idea for a day filled to the brim with various attractions. Their number and variety means that there is something for almost everyone.
Admittedly, JuraPark itself is not, in our opinion, the best dinosaur park in Poland, but it will certainly appeal to small dinosaur fans. Combined with the entire complex, a weekend or day trip is sure to be a success!
