If we had to name the best place for families with children in Kociewie, then without a doubt Zagroda Kociewska would be our number 1! What’s more, the place is also recommended if you spend a longer time in the Tri-City or want to stop somewhere on your way to the Polish seaside.
Located about 35 kilometers south of Gdansk, Zagroda Kociewska is a place that is open seasonally, where children will spend all day outdoors playing at their best. Many attractions, various installations, games and fun activities await the smaller and a little bigger ones that will not let you get bored.
It’s off the beaten path, away from the larger cities, and is not (yet) as popular as other large family theme parks. There are no merry-go-rounds, loud and fast rides, parades or stands full of plastic and playing toys. The climate here is definitely different: it is more idyllic, peaceful, intimate.

Zagroda Kociewska – attractions
There’s a little bit of everything at the Kociew Homestead – both sensory experiences and attractions to get out and run around await. There are animals, a sandbox, quiet rides, and there is plenty of space around for parents to relax as well ;)
Immediately upon entering, the little residents of the enclosure are waiting – there are rabbits in stalls and boxes that would probably love to eat something from visitors. And before we start writing about the other residents of the homestead, it is worth adding that at the entrance there is a store where you can buy pet food (2 zloty per package). So if you are planning to buy into the good graces of some pets then it is better to buy this food right away than to backslide later.
In the depths of the property there are several fenced pens, which are home to animals such as goats, fallow deer, chickens, roosters, sheep, ponies, a donkey – the animals are accustomed to human presence, they willingly approach not only for food, but also for stroking (of course, you need to be careful and behave calmly and quietly, so as not to frighten and annoy the animals).
What else is in the Zagroda Kociewska? The attention immediately upon entering is drawn to the ride, a train styled after old cars – the rides are rather slow, but this allows even smaller children (up to 3 years old with adult supervision) to ride it. You can take a ride on small motorcycles – there is a short track where children ride on their own (this ride is charged extra – 2 zloty per ride). And that’s it as far as electric attractions go ;)
Further parts are more independent play, testing your strength on an obstacle course, jumping, building.
Many children will stop for a longer time in the large sandbox – there are sand toys and a water pump, so you can (and even should!) get slightly dirty. There are shelters with tables, and you can also spread out deck chairs (they are, of course, available in the park).
Next door you can play mini golf – here we recommend buying a wooden ball with the logo of Zagroda Kociewska. It will be both a souvenir of the stay and will be used for us to play mini golf and have fun at the following stations. Because further down, there are interesting wooden tracks on which you can let these balls go and watch them overcome various obstacles or race.
Although we have to admit that the inflatable jumping pillows are an effective distraction from the track ;) There are two of these in the park, and there’s a flat platform with water. Kids (and what the heck, parents too) can jump on haystacks, walk a sensory trail or play python golf! But wait… what is this question-golf! This is a specially marked track on which you kick the ball and try to hit the holes with it. Various obstacles await the players and there is also some running itself. For this, at the end you can stand on the podium and take a commemorative photo.
There are many more ideas for play – there is a large maze, giga blocks, enlarged board games, and there is a wooden monkey grove (more of a path to walk with obstacles).
As you can see there is no time or place for boredom :)
Practical information about Zagroda Kociewska
Gastronomy, or restaurants, at Zagroda Kociewska
You can quietly bring your food onto the premises and, interestingly, you can rent a shed or barbecue areas here free of charge and come with your own sausage. We emphasize this because it is rarely possible in similar facilities.
However, if you get hungry and don’t want to prepare the food yourself or don’t have anything with you, you can buy something to eat at the Homestead’s food stall. There are fast food dishes, and there is also ice cream.
And if you want to try the local cuisine, sit down for a leisurely meal at a restaurant then right next door is the highly recommended Zagroda Kociewska restaurant (you have to go outside the family park, but you can return later without any problems). We unfortunately didn’t get to use it, as the restaurant was closed on Monday, but the very surroundings, the interestingly arranged outdoor eating space made us want to sit here for a while.
Prices – how much does a ticket to Zagroda Kociewska Park cost?
Buying a ticket to the Kociew Homestead buys entry for the whole day and the opportunity to use most of the attractions (most, because the already mentioned motorcycles or steerable boats are at an additional cost).
A ticket for a normal person costs 23 PLN, and for a child aged 3 and under – 20 PLN.
The facility honors the National Large Family Card.
Opening hours of Zagroda Kociewska
The homestead is not a year-round facility. In 2023, the opening is scheduled for 1. April.
Opening hours in the previous season were from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and it can be assumed that in the upcoming season they will be similar hours.

Attractions in the vicinity of Zagroda Kociewska
What’s worth seeing in the area? You can go on a journey around Kociewie! See Starogard Gdanski, Teutonic castle in Swiecie, Gniew castle, Tczew, Pelplin. We wrote more about the attractions in Kociewie in this post.
On the other hand, from here it is not far to the Tri-City, where many attractions for families with children await in Gdansk and Gdynia, even in bad weather.
From Kociew Homestead it is less than 40 kilometers to Malbork Castle, so it might be a good opportunity to see the world’s largest castle over the weekend as well!
Our opinion about Zagroda Kociewska
Zagroda Kociewska is a fantastic place for families with children! It reminds us a bit of Clement’s Orchards in Lodz province, although here the area is smaller and the place is less popular.
We really like such facilities, where the children can spend an entire day outdoors and completely do not want to leave – and this is what we had at Zagroda Kociewska.
Highly recommended!
