Zatorland is associated by many people solely with dinosaurs…. So this is a good time to disenchant this place and show other attractions within this theme park as well. So today a suggestion for a family outing to the Zatorland theme park.
Zatorland is located in the Malopolska voivodeship, about 50 kilometers west of Krakow, in the town of Zator, after which, of course, the park is named. Although most people come to Zator to visit Energyland, you may find that Zatorland is a better option for you, and you may even plan a weekend full of attractions and dedicate one day to Energyland (although one day may not be enough!) and the other just to Zatorland.
For whom will Zatorland be a good idea? While Energylandia will benefit most from rollercoaster fans, Zatorland is definitely quieter, slower and quieter. These are two completely different facilities and there is really nothing to compare them, as they offer different attractions.

Zatorland is a great option for families with children if the little ones are dinosaur fans. However, if dinosaurs are not your children’s greatest passion, it is still worth considering a visit here, as there are many other attractions besides the dinopark, not necessarily related to these reptiles. There is a funfair, playgrounds, a rope park, an insect park, an upside-down house…. and something that surprised us most positively is that there were hardly any queues to the various attractions at all! We could almost ride non-stop on some carousels or queues!

Attractions of Zatorland
Park of the Moving Dinosaurs
Although it is not the first part you enter when you enter Zatorland, it is the most interesting part in our opinion.
It’s worth noting the name of this section right away, because there’s a reason why it says MOVING dinosaurs. Well, Zatorland is the largest park in Europe precisely with moving prehistoric creatures. And this is something that definitely sets this park apart from other dinoparks in Poland. Fact, you will also find dinoparks with moving dinosaurs, but here there are really a lot of them, they make sounds hatch from eggs, and even…. they pee on visitors :)
During a walk through the dinopark, we will see dozens of dinosaurs (there are about 100 in total, including several families), including. The giant Argentinosaurus, the menacing Tyrannosaurus, the flying Pterosaurus or the Megalosaurus family. They are in the forest, and it is this forest, the wooden platforms, and at times the steaming water, that make for an amazing atmosphere. Even on a very hot day you can relax here because almost the entire path is in the shade. The only downside is that where the path is not wooden, it is strewn with pebbles on which it is quite difficult to drive a cart with small wheels.
After walking the entire path, an area with additional paid attractions (excavators, floating boats) and the Museum of Skeletons and Fossils awaits. The museum is one room with rocks and fossils, and there is also a gift store.
Perhaps you’d be interested in descriptions of other theme parks we’ve been to?
We recommend in particular:

– Majaland Kownaty
– Energylandia
– Illusion Farm
– Magic Gardens
– Julinek Amusement Park
– JuraPark Krasiejów
– Clement’s Orchards
Insect Park in Zatorland
You will see the Insect Park right from the parking lot and recognize it by its… the upside-down house ;) This is where the entrance to the park full of giant insects is.
But before we get to the titular insects, kids are sure to go wild at the attractions that await right outside the entrance: mini go-carts, the WormCoaster, a pool with boats or the aforementioned upside-down house. A cool attraction is also the traffic town, whose route extends through the entire Insect Park. In addition, there are playgrounds, including insect-themed ones.
The title attraction is giant insects, which you can look at in every detail. There are almost 30 of them here, they are described, and there are educational billboards hanging on the wall, so it’s quite a dose of knowledge. Some insects even make sounds :)
Lunapark Zatorland
The Lunapark is the part of Zatorland located just after you pass through the ticket office as you walk toward the dinosaur park. This is where you’ll find the more intense rides, but there’s no shortage of calmer ones as well.
Younger children can fly on elephants, ride the carousel or look over the park from the gondola on the Ferris wheel. Those a little older (or at least taller) will jump on the Dinocoaster, a tower from which one falls, and ride the cars. This section also includes playgrounds for children of all ages, a monkey grove for smaller and larger children, a large slide and a digging pit.
It is worth noting here that it is in this part that the largest food outlet and ice cream shop operate.
Mythology Park
To get to the Mythology Park in Zatorland, you have to leave Dinopark and walk a bit along the road. You will see the entrance to this park from a distance – it refers to mythology, of course.
At first we thought that this part would not interest us, because our children are still too young for such topics. Fortunately, the park is designed in such a way that in one part you learn about mythology and learn about various gods and goddesses, and on the other there are a rope park, playgrounds and a relaxation zone, so in fact, even with several years old you will not be bored here.
There is also a separate food area, you can buy ice cream, pancakes, have a cup of coffee.
Practical information
Time for the traditional portion of practical information
What to eat in Zatorland?
There are several food outlets on site, which we wrote about when describing the different parts.
The biggest choice when it comes to hot and larger meals is in Lunapark. Burgers, fries, salads, etc. are served here. There are also food outlets in other parts, where you can enjoy ice cream, pancakes or cake.
Prices are quite high whether it’s snacks, ice cream, pancakes or lunch dishes. A scoop of ice cream costs $7, a serving of pancakes costs $24, and coffee costs $12 – be forewarned so you can prepare for your visit accordingly. You can also bring your own food into the park.
Facilities for families with smaller children
If you travel with toddlers in strollers it is better to avoid umbrellas and strollers with small wheels. Passing on a path strewn with pebbles sometimes forced the use of greater force. Here, too, we must write that not everyone has had such problems before: in the traction of our coverage, several people were surprised and confirmed that a year ago or earlier the path was very good, so it is likely that the surface has been changed or new stones have been added and everything must be compacted.
This detail aside, the place is adapted for strollers, there are ramps so there should be no major problems with passage.
There are changing tables on the premises.
Attractions for children in Zatorland
And while we’re on the subject of toddlers, you might be wondering what age children will benefit the most from this place?
In our opinion, the best time to visit here is so about 5-6 years. Children of this age will already benefit from a large number of attractions, there will be a large educational dimension here for them, well, and they will have the strength to do it all :)
Our Philip, who was 3.5 years old at the time of the visit, was also enthralled – he saw dinosaurs, went wild in the playgrounds, and was able to ride various attractions so for him it was also a successful trip, but nevertheless less fulfilling than for a 6-year-old.
Prices – how much does a ticket to Zatorland cost?

Day ticket prices:
- Normal ticket – 79,90 zloty,
- Discounted ticket (up to 16 years of age) – PLN 69.90,

Getting to Zatorland and parking
As we wrote at the beginning of this post, Zatorland is located in the Malopolska province, in the town of Zator. It takes about an hour to get there from Krakow and Katowice, and about three hours from Lodz and Wroclaw.
Coming from Cracow on the A4 highway, take the exit for Alwornia and in this village take the road No. 780 in the western direction. In Grandmothers, take the 781 road in a southerly direction, which leads to the village of Zator.
Zator can be reached by train, and it will take about 30 minutes to walk from the train station to Zatorland, and less than 20 minutes from the bus stop.
There is car parking on site, payable at PLN 12 per day.

Summary
Zatorland is a very interesting place for families with children, especially those who are still too young for the bigger attractions of nearby Energylandia.
There are several parks here in various themes, with many attractions for children. There is a funfair, an insect park, a dinopark, playgrounds, a rope park, merry-go-rounds…. almost everyone will find something for themselves.
However, the most noteworthy is the dinosaur park – the place is superbly arranged, even on a hot day it is cooler here, there is plenty of shade, and the dinosaurs themselves are delightful, mainly because most of them move!
In our opinion, this is one of the best dinosaur parks in Poland.
