Ready for… 2024 – yes, we’re still doing recaps :)

Yes, now the passing year is remembered with quick rolls on Instagram or TikToku, but we still do the traditional blog recap, of our travels and adventures in the passing year. This has been a tradition for several years now, which we have no intention of stopping!

The question is, does anyone even still read it? :)

We will still do this summary, and what! Although you can find us more up-to-date on Facebook, Instagram or TikToku, because we publish practical content on the blog rather more delayed, a practical summary cannot be missed here.

What was 2023 like?

Although we feel a little unsatisfied, in terms of travel, 2023 was much better than the previous year :) Details can be found below in the digits comparing 2023 vs 2022.

If travel alone wasn’t enough, we published a new book “104 Attractions for Children. Poland with an Idea”, which became a bestseller in Empik, closing 2023 in 2nd place in its category (in all of 2023) and in 9th place in the Travel category! This is a special honor for us, as we are sincerely surprised that our books are so popular! We knew they would sell well, but we never expected our position to be in the empire’s top tier. Thank you especially for that!

We have also released in a new form our Family Travel series, i.e. the books “Family Travel – Packing” and “Family Travel – Plane with Baby”, but these items are only available in our store :)

Another new thing that will happen this year is the fair, but from a different perspective. We were at trade fairs in Wroclaw, Poznan and Warsaw, where we not only met with you and gave lectures, but also (in the last two cities) had our own booth for the first time, where, among other things. We sold our books.

And we can’t mention our newest baby either! Poland ‘s free mobile app for kids! If you haven’t heard of it yet, we warmly encourage you to download it (and by the way, please give us feedback on Google Play and App Store). Poland for Kids is a mobile application with places friendly to families with children. Places are added there by us, but also by you, together creating an interactive map with places worth visiting for the whole family. You will find attractions, but also hotels, restaurants or events.

A few digits from 2023

Time for the traditional summary in numbers! We do them if only because we ourselves are very curious how it compares to the same statement a year ago ;)

The specifics look like this:

  • As for the number of users on the blog, in 2023 alone we had 1,000,000 readers! Thank you! This has been fairly constant for several years now, which makes us very happy that traditional blogs are still very popular.
  • Our Facebook and Instagram are growing in strength! There are already more than 148,000 fans on FB and more than 82,000 people are following us on IG! In total, there are already more than 230,000 of you on all social media channels (including TikTok, YouTube)!

The travel numbers still may not look that impressive compared to the pre-pandemic years, but they are of secondary importance to us. After all, it is different to travel with three children than without children ;) It’s also not insignificant that we nowadays prefer longer rather than shorter trips, especially when it comes to air travel – so we prefer to go for a whole month rather than two or three times for shorter weekend trips.

  • We have 10 flights to our credit (2023: it was 4).
  • We visited 5 countries (2023: 2 countries).
  • We have been to 7 different airports (2022: 3 airports).
  • In total, we flew almost 30,000 kilometers (2022: more than 33,000 kilometers).
  • We spent about 40 hours (2022: more than 40 hours) on board the planes.
  • We flew 3 a irlines (2022: it was only one airline ).
  • We traveled 5400 kilometers by car around the USA! !! On top of that, we traveled an immeasurable number of kilometers in Poland, which are better not to add up at current fuel prices ;-)

Top 10 memories of 2023

This year it would be hard for us to pick another Top 10 places, because in truth, all the places we saw in 2023 were great! :) The obvious number 1 is the United States, but anyone who follows us on social media knows this very well.

You can find all the best places to see in the western part of the US in this post: Western states of the USA – what to see? A list of 36 places! “

This year we will approach it differently and simply list the places we have been:

  • United States, most notably:
    • Arches National Park, or Moab and environs (Utah),
    • Kanab and Page area (Arizona/Utah)
    • Monument Valley (Arizona/Utah),
    • Ourey (Colorado),
    • Mesa Verde National Park (Colorado),
    • Grand Teton National Park (Wyoming),
    • Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming).

  • Cyprus
    , Paphos area.
  • Turkey, Antalya area.
  • Finland, Rovaniemi.

  • Slovakia
, Bachledka in winter and Liptovský Mikuláš in summer.
  • Poland, including but not limited to:

You can see this summary of the places we saw in 2023 also in a video version on Instagram :)

2024 – are we ready?

We don’t know that ourselves :)

In 2024, we certainly have a lot of work ahead of us on new books (about the United States and about Kociewie), electronic products and our Poland app for children. We hope to meet you again at the next fair.

Our travel plans are just ideas for now, as we are entering 2024 without any airline tickets or booked accommodations. However, there are so many places we would like to show you in the new year that it will be hard to decide…. ;)

So keep your fingers crossed for us and be with us as we travel across Poland and around the world! :)

We wish you all the best in the New Year! May all your dreams come true, especially your travel dreams!

2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015!
