Ahead of you is a suggestion for a day full of activities for the whole family. We invite you to Krasiejów, where on one side of the street you can learn about the history of the planet and come face to face with dinosaurs in the JuraPark, and on the other side you can learn about the history of human evolution. A huge dose of knowledge for all, and a lot of fun at the same time.
On the occasion of our stay in the Bay of Fables, we decided to visit the JuraPark in Krasiejów. Krasiejów is a village in the Ozimek municipality, about 25 kilometers from Opole. What made one of the most popular dinoparks in Poland established right here, 10 years ago?
Well, this is the place where the remains of prehistoric amphibians and reptiles more than 230 million years old have been found! Of course, mention must be made of the most famous ones, namely those belonging to Silesaurus opolensis, found in the Krasiejów area, which according to some is considered the oldest known dinosaur in the world (some qualify it more as an ancestor of dinosaurs, while still others claim that the site where the remains were found is younger). The fact is that many interesting discoveries were made in Krasiejów, and the archaeological site is still functioning today.
At JuraPark, we can admire 1:1 scale models of dinosaurs, learn about the history of the universe, but also play (or relax) at the numerous playgrounds and attractions for the youngest.

For those who are a little older, we also recommend going to the Evolution Park across the street, which is a great complement to a visit to JuraPark. On why we recommend it for older children and adults, we write below.
Table of contents
Visiting JuraPark Krasiejów
JuraPark Krasiejów is a vast area, divided into thematic zones and supplemented with unusual attractions such as a beach, 3d cinema and playgrounds.
So here we have the biggest part, which is the path among the dinosaurs. However, to get there, it’s best to take a train ride, enhanced by a 3D cinema! Passing through the gates at the entrance to the park, head immediately to the left, from where the train departs through the Multimedia Time Tunnel. The ride does not last long, but it is very educational. Travelers are given special glasses and can watch the history of the universe on a long screen (unfortunately, the 3D effect was not mind-blowing, the story itself, however, as much as possible!).
Once the drive is over, a pathway through the different eras begins, also including many interesting facts and information about the discovery of remains in the ground. Even at this stage, look out for various dinosaurs in the grass.
The first part, the route up to the Paleontological Pavilion (where there is a glass floor and you can see the real archaeological site) is very pleasant – there is a roof, so you can walk in the shade, and there are benches at which you can rest. After passing through the aforementioned building, you enter the footbridges, where you have to walk quite a bit without shelter, so be sure to bring your headgear (possibly umbrellas ;) ).
It is in this section that you will find the most impressive models, all reproduced in life-size. Most are fenced off and cannot be approached, but some can even be stroked. In total, there are nearly 200 of them which is quite an impressive number for a dinopark. On top of that, on the plus side, the information boards provide comprehensive knowledge about each dinosaur.
The final stage is the Cinema of Emotions and the Oceanarium. In the latter, one enters an underwater world and observes extinct aquatic animals in 3D technology.
Of course, this is not the end of the visit to JuraPark. As we mentioned at the beginning of the post, in addition to the strictly educational parts, there are some typically entertaining parts.
And yes, there is a beach with a small amusement park, there is a large playground on the sand, with separate equipment for children of different ages. Most are for children 3+, but there are also a few for children 8 and older. The playground is great, there are very high slides, spiders, spins, tyrolean, etc.
However, we recommend discovering another, more hidden playground. To get to it, enter the wooden maze to the left of the playground. After sliding down a tall slide or descending a staircase, one reaches a small plaza kept in a dinosaur theme. It is very quiet and peaceful here, as hardly anyone gets here.
Returning to the mountain, however, I’m sure many children will eagerly fly to the next playground, where trampolines, inflatables, a train ride and a covered monkey grove await.
Science and Human Evolution Park
Across the street, or more precisely, across the parking lot, is a rather inconspicuous building that may not seem interesting at first glance. A bland block with strange patterns on the walls that are covered by a layer of dust makes it likely to be overlooked or unnoticed.
Inside, however, it turns out to be a very modern place, steeped in technology and interesting effects.
But before about the place itself, we must emphasize at the outset that the place is recommended for children from 4 years old. Smaller ones can enter, but at the responsibility of the parents. What is so inside that smaller children may feel overwhelmed? Inside it is quite dark, audio guides and glasses are worn, there are a lot of lights, and, well, the expositions themselves may not be suitable for young children – such as skulls or drastic scenes. In our case, the 1.5-year-old was interested in the various lights and displays, and there was no problem, but the 4-year-old didn’t want to travel too much with the simulator (even though she generally loves such attractions).
Well, that’s right, at the entrance to the Evolution Park you get an audio guide, special glasses and wait in the waiting room for the shuttle that will take you back in time. It is such a cinema with moving seats, although having a comparison with many such other places, it is quite…. average. There is no wow effect and we waited rather only until the end of this trip.
After being transported back in time, a walk through the exhibition awaits – you approach individual display cases showing the lives of our ancestors. And this is the most interesting part. The audio guide starts automatically when you are in a designated zone. Each scene is described in detail, showing many interesting facts, not just dry data.
After passing the showcases, another ferry ride awaits, and then you enter rooms with skulls, human remains and other archaeological finds.
In the Evolution Park we felt a bit like in Hydropolis in Wroclaw – although the subject matter is different, inside the atmosphere is similar.
And it must be said that the site is a great mine of knowledge transmitted in a very interesting way. However, even these 4 years are a bit too little to take full advantage of this place, the whole thing will interest 6 or 7 year olds more. We hope to return in a few years :)
Practical information
It is mandatory to wear masks in the indoor areas of JuraPark (such as the Oceanarium), and throughout the Evolution Park. We were very positively surprised that this is very much enforced by the staff, and even many visitors put on masks as there are simply more people in the open.
JuraPark is fully wheelchair accessible. There are no stairs or thresholds along the way.
At the entrance to JuraPark there is a souvenir store and food outlets, where you can snack on ice cream or waffles as well as eat something warm.
The Evolution Park has a store at the end of the exhibits where you can buy souvenirs, snacks and drinks.
Prices at JuraPark and Evolution Park.
You have to admit that entering both JuraPark and Evolution Park is an expensive event, especially if you are traveling with the whole family. The ticket includes all-day entry to the park and all attractions inside.
If you are only interested in JuraPark then the prices are as follows:
- adult person – 55 zł
- child/student – PLN 45
- children under 3 – 0 zł

Tickets to the Evolution Park look like this:

We encourage you to look at the offer online, because there are often promotions, and so, for example, tickets for September are currently cheaper: a family, comprehensive 2+1 ticket costs PLN 123. We, during the week, paid 156 zloty for a ticket for the four of us, buying the ticket just online just before entering (you only have to wait a while for the ticket to be generated).

Our opinion about JuraPark and Evolution Park
A full day trip to the attractions in Krasiejów costs a little, but here we have a full day full of attractions. Both the educational and entertainment part is very developed and at a really high level.
The kids definitely liked JuraPark better – so much so that they didn’t want to leave there ;) Parents definitely found the Evolution Park more interesting, where we had the opportunity to peek through the windows at how our ancestors lived.
It’s a place we’d love to return to, in a few years, when the kids are a bit older, because it’s a great place when you want to introduce them to the history of homo sapiens sapiens;)
