Do you travel around Poland in the winter? In addition to snow trips, do you also set off to explore or discover other corners? Or do you save that for the other seasons? Today we present you with a list of winter attractions for children that can be visited regardless of weather conditions, that is, places for the whole family, under the roof, open all year round :)
Not everyone likes winter. Not everyone is ready to set off with their children on a day-long field trip with hot tea in a thermos. We very much understand it! Since last year, going crazy in the snow has been beloved at our house, but before that it wasn’t always so, and playing outside ended in opposition and rebellion when it got too cold.
So we looked for covered places and attractions, or focused on neighborhoods where you can always find a place to stay warm without any problems. And since the winter weather is in full swing and we have already received quite a few questions from you about just such attractions, we come to you with some suggestions for winter attractions for children. At the very end you will also find a map.

Ideas for interesting indoor winter activities for children:
In the following list we omit any ideas for spending time outdoors – you know, this is a great option and we are in favor of children breathing healthy air as much as possible, but remember that it has to be clean air! If your little ones like to walk a lot, snow and frost do not scare them, go ahead! But if you are looking for a place to warm up then read on.

So below we focus on places where you won’t get wet, get cold, and learn something interesting in the process.
Well, here we go (random order):
The fairy tale of Mr. Kleks – a fairy tale adventure for the youngest (Katowice, Silesian voivodeship).
Mr. Kleks’ Fairy Tale is a place in Katowice that is well prepared for children, it is full of corners to discover, fun, tasks and creative space. You can run, jump, slide, stack – just have fun, while taking part in tasks prepared by the guides. This is an attraction for children roughly from the age of 3.
Details about Mr. Blossom’s Fable (access, tickets, etc.) can be found here.
The Mill of Knowledge Modernity Center – learning not only for children (Torun, kujawsko-pomorskie voivodeship).
The Knowledge Mill is a very developing and inspiring place on the map of Toruń. There are attractions for young and old on several floors, with parents also learning a lot here. On the plus side, the attractions are also for the little ones (in our opinion, even a 2.5-year-old will spend time here very pleasantly).
We have also already written more about the Knowledge Mill, about here:)
Hydropolis – for the slightly older (Wroclaw, Lower Silesian Voivodeship)
Hydropolis is tossed around as an idea for families traveling with older children (say, from about 7, 8 years old). At Hydropolis, as the name suggests, we learn about water, and in a very accessible and attractive way. About water, which surrounds us from everywhere and plays a huge role in our lives. We will learn about its strength, supply, use, limitations, etc. just in modern Hydropolis.
We wrote more about this place in our post about attractions for children in Wroclaw.
Suntago – winter tropics for the whole family (Wręcza, Mazowieckie voivodeship).
If you dream of jumping into your bathing suits and relaxing on a lounger under the palm trees, and your kids love playing in the pool, then head to Suntago. This water amusement park is located in central Poland and provides a multitude of attractions ranging from an artificial wave pool, a rushing river, numerous slides, a water playground and adults-only spa areas.
You can find more information about SUNTAGO here, and our video about SUNTAGO here.
Copernicus Science Center (Warsaw, Mazowieckie voivodeship)
The next science center in this list is the one most famous in Poland, the Copernicus Science Center with its planetarium. A huge area full of experiments, physical phenomena, optical illusions allows for a completely different view of the world around us. Plus, temporary exhibitions and a great Bzzzz! for toddlers make it a place suitable for the whole family.
An entry about this place will soon be on our blog :)
Mandoria – covered theme park (Rzgow, Lodz voivodeship).
It used to be inconceivable to us that a fully covered amusement park could be created, but Mandoria is a good example of how it is not only possible, but necessary. Mandoria is a city full of adventures, rides, merry-go-rounds, slides, and you can even find rollercoasters here! There are attractions here that even toddlers can ride on, but it’s best to come here with older children (and especially taller ones!) so they can take advantage of everything.
You can find everything and limits, attractions and prices in this post.
Majaland – not just a covered amusement park (Kownaty, Lubuskie province)
Majaland and Mandoria are two, quite similar places, with Majaland having a sizable open-air section to offer (unfortunately, it is closed during the winter, but the covered section still functions). It is smaller than in Mandoria, but can still be a great choice when it comes to a weekend getaway in western Poland. The place is suitable for smaller children (even 2-year-olds), but it is the taller ones who will benefit from more attractions.
We have already written about Majaland, among others, here.
Experyment Science Center (Gdynia, Pomeranian voivodeship)
The list should not omit a place in the north of Poland, where you can experiment and experience firsthand how the laws of physics work. The place is rather for children so from the age of 5, because for toddlers there is only a separate play area.
Here you will find our post about Experyment Science Center in Gdynia.
Gate of Poznań ICHOT – history not only for adults (Poznań, Wielkopolskie Voivodeship)
When one thinks of museums one rarely has the vision of going to them with children in mind. However, the Gate of Poznań shows that it is possible to create a place that is friendly to the whole family. It’s not a place where you’ll spend the whole day, but it deserves to appear in this list, because there are dedicated rooms for children, where they too can learn something interesting about the history of Ostrow Tumski. Recommended for children at least 3+.
An entry about this place will soon be on our blog :)
Wieliczka Salt Mine – family tour (Wieliczka, Malopolska voivodeship)
Not everyone knows, but Poland’s most famous mine can be visited by a special family tour. The tour is conducted in groups with a guide, and during the trip children search for the mysterious land of Soliland and its inhabitants. The route is 2.5 kilometers, the recommended minimum age is 5 years old, but 4-year-olds will do fine too.
Read more about Wieliczka and the attractions on site in our post: Wieliczka Salt Mine: Solilandia, Mining Route or Tourist Route – which to choose?
Malbork Castle (Malbork, Pomeranian Voivodeship)
If we had to choose one castle in Poland that can be visited in winter and where you can let your children’s imagination run wild, we would choose Malbork Castle. There are no dedicated exhibitions for children here, but just the journey through the castle’s interiors and learning about its history will interest children, which is a guarantee of a pleasant time.
You can read more about our visit to Malbork here.
EC1 Science and Technology Center and the Street of Elements (Lodz, Lodz Voivodeship).
CNiT EC1 in Lodz is an educational and interactive exhibition in a former thermal power plant showing how energy was once produced here. There is no shortage of interesting exhibits, mock-ups, but also games or experiments. While this section is more for older children (ages 7 and up), of particular note is the newly opened Street of Elements located in EC1 dedicated to the youngest visitors.
You can find the entry on EC1 here.
Kolejkowo – for small and big fans of trains and mock-ups (Wroclaw, Lower Silesia voivodeship)
Kolejkowo is located in two cities: Gliwice and Wroclaw. We were at Kolejkovo in Wroclaw, and it was in the old location – it has recently been in the new one, in the Sky Tower. Here you will find large mock-ups full of buildings, vehicles, people, which can be viewed by day or night, as the time of day changes inside. Super place if your kids love trains (are there kids who don’t like them? :) ).
We wrote more about Kolejkowo in our post about attractions for children in Wroclaw.
Some other winter attractions in Poland:
Finally, there are two more places, in smaller print, because we have not visited them, but they are on our list, and you have recommended them to us many times:
The European Fairy Tale Center in Pacanów – is a journey through fairy tale lands on about 800 square meters.
Karkonosze Mysteries in Karpacz – Every time we go to Karkonosze someone always recommends this place ;) we have not yet arrived, because it seems too scary for our little ones, but we hope to get here soon too, to learn more about the beliefs and history of Lower Silesia.
Map of winter attractions in Poland for children
Below you will find a map of all of the above points, or winter attractions for children and families in Poland:
Summary
Our list of places we recommend for winter trips is quite long and depends on the age of the children and your interests and abilities. With these dozen ideas, we wanted to encourage you to travel and discover new places also in winter, which we hope we succeeded in doing :) If you would like more or in other regions – let us know.
What else would you add to this list? Let us know in the comments!
